Phenytoin sodium long term links to cancer?
She has recently undergone
radiotherapy
treatment (5 week course) and in general has been a big success, but her recent check up has found new cells forming which they are concerned about. Has anyone else had any issues relating to this involving this drug? Many thanks

Hi, I'm having radiation treatment to prostate 5 days a week, from Dec 14th to Jan 21st. I'm like holy ripe guacamole Batman, this is extreme. Asked the Doc, is this a last resort punt? The Doc said, no, not at all, it's treatment strategy based on recent clinical trials that demonstrated continuous

Spine Radiation Treatment Next Week
Since my last post where I'd had an MRI scan and they were concerned about size of lesion on my T12 vertebrae, several people have reviewed all my scans. Yesterday I met with Consultant Radiographer and recommended to have treatment. I'm not in any pain but this lesion is starting to surround the spinal

Pelvic pain
Hi this is my second round of cancer had APR in 2018, removal of my rectum and permanent colostomy. In 2020 had secondary cancer which decided to wrap its self around the nerves in front of my sacrum, so was given chemo and radio therapy, this did the trick and tumour disappeared and I'm on 3 monthly

Darolutamide and scan question (2nd UPDATE 1/15/22) RESULTS of Pylarify scan Anyone have any thoughts or advice? Questions we should ask?
My husband has a rapidly rising PSA (from 1.28 on Oct 18th to 5.9 on Dec 10th) and he was scheduled to get a Pylarify scan on Jan 6th but with newest PSA reading doc wants to start darolutamide now and not wait for scan. He's never been shown to be metastatic and we are disappointed to not be getting

Docetaxel/Taxotere stopped after 1st Infusion & Radiation
After chemo went radiation therapy within few days to treat tumor in spine shown MRI. The PSA went from 24 prior to chemo to 33 after 3 weeks after chemo. Fatigue was off charts and neuropathy/ numbness in feet / legs became worse after chemo/ radiation. Considering Xofigo infusions to treat tumors

Decision making of a patient with stage 4 glioblastoma
I want to know if a person with a stage 4 glioblastoma who has had radiation therapy is capable of deciding if family members can be updated on his condition? What info can a doctor share with the personal representative if the patient objects?

Husband diagnosed with Glioblastoma just before retirement!
He has had surgery,
Radiotherapy
and Chemotherapy . He is about to start the 6 month course of Chemotherapy in a couple of weeks. Our daughter lives in NZ and has been very upset about her dad. I have read through the comments made and they have been very encouraging. It is a hard journey!

Palliative radiation
As far as treatment is concerned, the doctor has recommended pelvic
radiotherapy
for bone pain followed by enzalutamide /docetaxel. Does the radiation have any serious side effect? What about the elevated temperature? Need suggestions. Thanks

NCCN re-revises low-risk guidelines
This is probably a tempest in a teapot. NCCN, one of the top organizations that establishes the standard-of-care in the US, has once again changed its low-risk guidelines. It caused a bit of a storm earlier this year when they removed the word "preferred" after "active surveillance" for low-risk

First RT session
No issues at all with first
radiotherapy
therapy treatment of 6 gy this morning. Long may it last!! I will now double down on exercise and consumption of supplements in the expectation that weakened cancer cells are less able to resist any benefits they may offer.
