Palliative radiation

Hello everyone

My father is still getting temperature upto 37 celcius(his normal temperature stays 35.5).However the doctor said it is not a matter of concern and we should seek medical help only if his temperature goes above 38degree celsius.

As far as treatment is concerned, the doctor has recommended pelvic radiotherapy for bone pain followed by enzalutamide /docetaxel.

Does the radiation have any serious side effect?

What about the elevated temperature?

Need suggestions.

Thanks

I have had quite a bit of palliative radiation and found that it certainly helps and I didn’t have any noticeable side effects.

Did it increase the pain temporarily in the radiated area?

No serious side effects or temperature. But pain may increase for 1-2 weeks due to inlammation. Anti-inflammatories can help if there is temporary pain.

He's at 98.6 F which we here in the States consider normal. If he normally is at 95.0 F I think it's time for a new thermometer. I usually run a low temperature but not as low as 95.0 F.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
