thyroid blood tests
Are there any supplement I should avoid prior to having a blood test? I have started taking lugoI's Iodine, wonder if this should be avoided before the test and for how long? Many thanks

Covid Vaccine, medical conditions and allergies
I was just wondering whether anyone has taken any of the vaccines? Although I work within a hospital setting where some of my colleagues have already received it, had been sent a text by my GP stating I should book and appointment and now furloughed, I really do not wish to take it due to my allergies

Hashimotos disease?
Hi all, my mum got these results & I was wondering why she would have such high antibodies but thyroid levels in range? Does this mean she has hashimotos? She's not on any medication. I myself have graves disease but now hypo after RAI treatment. Thanks.

As this is my first post I will try and give short history as it is important. At the age of 17 (I am now 74) I was diagnosed with Hypoactive thyroid which strangely made me put on weight and also made one of eyes bulge. I was given iodine in tablet form and eventually things went back to normal .

RLS Breakthrough Number 5
When sleeping in a bed, a weighted blanket is useless for me. By keeping a 16 pound weighted blanket on my knees while sitting up I am able to sleep 3-4 hours even when cutting my normal dose of codeine in half. The key is to ensure that the weight forces my feet to the floor, so I make sure that most

Swollen face ( parotid gland) and NDT?
Hello all! I have been taking 1gr nature-thyroid for 15 days ( with beautiful increase of basal temperatures). And all of the sudden canker sores appeared on my gum. Followed by a swelling of my cheek. Related to parotid/ salivary glands being swollen. My naturopath says it’s a good thing. « This is

TSH 5.3
Hi I`ve just received my routine thyroid blood result TSH 5.3. (range 0.53-3.50). Because of COVID I wasn`t able to have the blood drawn early morning but instead at 2.30 pm, so I don`t know if this makes much of a difference? I was originally hyperthyroid, had RAI and have been ok for 6 years with

Iodine supplementation doesn't affect foetal outcome.
I just make this post which isn't groundbreaking, which shows that giving iodine to pregnant women with a degree of iodine insufficiency improves their personal iodine level but has no effect on the foetus. Unsurprising, because the foetus takes what it needs from the mother, regardless of whether the
