Was RAI necessary?
I know it is possible to have both Graves and Hashi's. My recurrent bouts of hyperthyroidism requiring 3 years of continuous carbimazole treatment made it look like I just had Graves. Since having several private blood tests I notice my Tg antibodies are raised and my TPO are very high. Would the Hashi's

Medicheck blood test results
I’ve just received these results, I had a private test as my endocrinology nurse informed me that consultant would be reluctant to order tests for vitamin level. I’m awaiting a response from my GP, any input from the members would be very welcome. hs-CRP 3.30 <5.0 Ferritin 300.0

Article from John-Hopkins regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS
No question, I just wanted to post some of an article regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS (the full text can be found on John Hopkins university website. Dr. Willis (as in Willis-Ekbomb disease / RLS) in his description of this disease in 1685 also reported on the benefits of opiates for treating

Iodine and thyroid function
My good friend has an iodine deficiency along with an under active thyroid. She has been taking doses of iodine daily. The last week she has been increasingly fatigued, some “brain fog”, weight gain, even affected her eye sight. Is this something that is normal? Is it safe for her to take the iodine

I have cough predominant asthma, which means coughing is my main symptom but I do sometimes wheeze when I'm really bad, and I also can get tight and short of breath. I was discharged from hospital on 10th November after

Hello everyone, I'm new here so let me tell you a little about my story... I'm 25 and have been diagnosed with endo following a laparoscopy about this time last year. I got my periods really late in life (age17/18), but every single one has been painful and heavy (and my cycle averages about 20 days

Thyroid function test
I had an overactive thyroid - which was knocked out unfortunately with RAI treatment about 20 years ago. I had a blood test recently: Thyroid function test (X77Wg) Serum TSH level (XaELV) <0.01 miu/L (0.3-4.2) Below low reference limit Serum free T4 level (XaERr) 19.1 pmol/L (9-23) Thyroid function

Levothyroxine intolerance
I have felt dreadfully ill ever since I started taking Levothyroxine when I became hypothyroid in October 18 following RAI treatment in June 18. I was suffering side-effects from the carbimazole and was told that it was easier to treat an under-active thyroid than an overactive one. The deterioration

Any advice? Can’t take carbimazole
Radioactive
iodine
treatment is not currently available due to Covid restrictions but might become so soon. I have a 4 year old, so that comes with complications in itself. If levels rise again before they can operate, thyroid crisis/storm is a real possibility apparently.

Help needed
I’m going thru a really bad rough spot right now . I’ve been on opiods Codeine and Tramadol for about a year with mediocre success. I’ve been thru the augmentation with Ropinarole, don’t want to go back there. It seems that things have been gradually going downhill for me and on a friends advice I added

Iodine dressing
Hello All On Thursday I had an iodine dressing from my lovely nurse at my GP surgery for a burn as it turned into a blister. By Friday I was feeling very ill and as though my hypo symptoms had returned, with a swollen and painful right side of my neck over my thyroid area, with difficulty swallowing
