Update on my Endo stand off!
Hi, I posted a while ago how I’m a long term user of carbimazole 24+ years now and how my endo was trying to force radio iodine therapy on me. So I backed out of the consultation and my endo got very cross and sent my doc a letter asking ‘as this patient has refused treatment, could you monitor bloods

Help needed in long term effects of RAI for Graves Disease, long term use of Levothyroxine and how I go about transitioning to NDT.
Hi all, To give a brief history - I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease in 2000. After 6 years on Propananol, Levothyroxine and Carbimazole, I had Radio Active Iodine in 2006 and have been on varying doses of Levothyroxine ever since. During my routine yearly blood test at the end of 2019 it was detected

The longer the antithyroid drug is used, the lower the relapse rate in Graves' disease: a retrospective multicenter cohort study in Korea
Many have reported here that they have received an antithyroid medicine for a long period (whether carbimazole or propylthiouracil). However, long-term use of an anti-thyroid medicine is frequently denied. There is often considerable pressure to choose RAI or thyroidectomy. Of course, if the patient

Insomnia
Hi my neurologist wrote to me a few days ago regarding the use is melatonin for insomnia she said it was licensed for short term use in adults over 55 years but in her experience it’s not a very effective treatment for insomnia. Just recovering from a visit to the emergency room after having some dental surgery procedure. The Dental Surgeon prescribed Tylenol 3 with Codeine for pain and swelling after i indicated my current drug therapy for GCA. Overactive Thyroid
Hi, just been reading everyone's comments about RAI or surgery and I am shocked that I have a choice I was told I only had the 2 options and that staying on carbizmole 5mg was not an option. I now know I am being forced by my hospital rather than being given a choice. So glad I found your posts

Salivary glands
I had RAI in july last year and now have a swollen face and neck ob one side indicating possible gland blocked. Is it common to get this 9 months after RAI or is it unrelated? Anyone had this experience?

7 weeks post op - still in pain?
7 weeks post diagnostic laparoscopy with excision of Endometriosis. I haven't really taken note of if the pain has gotten better or worse as it's still early days. Today I am in so much pain in my lower belly, almost as if I'm about to start bleeding but I'm not due for another week. I don't take any

LOW ENDORPHRIN LEVELS
HI all can anyone tell me where I can purchase codeine phosphate without a prescription or any other med that will boost endorphrin levels as my gp informs me that my levels are low at times but refuses to prescribe anything.

Pain again
Hi all, thanks for replies. Posted reply earlier and put it on the wrong bit.!! The costachondria sounds very like it as had it on and off for 6 months. Getting a GP response is difficult. We are going away tomorrow for a couple of days then deal with it when we come back. I was given noratryptaline

Hi all, has anyone experienced pain in rib/chest area. Pain is awful, difficult to breathe in as like a stabbing pain. It is variable in severity and frequency. Does ease a bit as day goes on and after codeine. Left side only. I honestly am thinking it is my RH. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Just started 100mg levothyroxine how long until symptoms improve?
I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease 4 years ago and had
radioactive
iodine
treatment last October. Since then my bloods last week confirmed I’ve gone severely underactive which explains why I’ve felt so terrible recently.
