Is Long-Term Antithyroid Use the Best Treatment for Graves Disease?
At least some of this seems to have come from patients who, for one reason or another, were not given "definitive" treatment (
radioactive
iodine
or surgery). At least initially this didn't come from research done to understand what was happening.

Any experiences of >90mg doses of Amitriptyline for fibro pain?
Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I suffer with a number of painful conditions: fibro, erythromelalgia, PoTS and haven recently been diagnosed with JHS (although not assessed how severe yet). I'm currently on 90mg a day of amitriptyline amongst other things including codeine

Question about pregnancy and having children with hypothyroidism after RAI for Graves disease
Hi everyone. I'm really grateful for this forum and appreciate all the generous advice and support. I want ask if there is any female who had RAI at a younger age and went on to have children afterward. I'm curious because I have marriage and children in my future plans and it would be nice to hear

Monitor my health test results
I would apreciate it if somebody would give me some help with my test results from the above company. I asked for the full Thyroid tests. This was their advice:- Your results suggest you have a form of underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) TSH level 3.88 TSH levels normal normal range

Pain relief for bowel endo?
Hi guys, I'm 5 years since my last lap - where they found extensive endo around pouch of Douglas. Since then I've had a baby and been on the minipill, but as predicted the endo symptoms are getting worse and worse again. The minipill does help a bit, I also take buscopan for the pelvic pain and sometimes

Ray Peat & Thyroid Wisdom
Hi all :) I've mentioned a few times on this forum that the Keto/carnivore diet is the reason for my devastating decline into overt hypothyroidism where I became unresponsive to synthetics. Since that time, I've used this forum as well as the teachings of American physiologist Ray Peat to educate myself

Hi, Everyone
My name is Ali. I am nearly 52 and live on our dairy farm in Pembrokeshire. Had IBS for all of my life, I think, but diagnosed back in early 2000s. It did settle when I moved to West Wales in 2003 and completely changed my lifestyle, only really flaring on stressful journeys. I do get bloating

āCONFUSEDā UPDATE
Well, I increased my Pred to 9 mg for 5 days but didnāt go straight back to my previous dose (4.5mg) but went to 6mg. So far the flu-type symptoms have gone but I still have a low-grade headache, plus pain in both shoulders and in the neck. I have tried taking paracetamol but this only has minimal

swollen thyroid
hi again all, I saw my specialist a few weeks ago but she did not have the results at the time. I got the letter on the 25th that my gp had not tested me properly. She said I would have to rebook bloods and she will get in touch. My mental health deteriorated massively which in turn made me my symptoms

Can we talk about diet and supplements please?
Iāve seen a lot of good advice on here about what diets to follow and what supplements to use but it doesnāt seem to be a one size fits all approach so I wonder if we could start a more detailed discussion about this? For example, gluten free is often mentioned except it seems that for people not on
