How to decide whether to have a hysterectomy
Hi, I'm newly diagnosed with stage 4 endo including 6 cm cyst and endo on anterior rectal wall. I've seen a private Dr who has advised I'd need surgery rather than just trying hormone treatment and my options are either a lap to remove what they can or a full hysterectomy. I'm 45, so fertility isn't

Test tomorrow - what about HRT?
Hi all. I’m having my Medichecks blood test done tomorrow morning. I stopped all supplements two weeks ago. I took my thyroxine as normal last night and won’t take any tonight. But what should I do about my HRT? Can I take that as normal this morning and tonight? I have progesterone, estrogen and testosterone

External beam radiotherapy [EBRT] and radical prostatectomy [RP] are associated with better survival in Asian PCA patients
New study of SEER data below [1]. Bowel obstruction after debulking surgery
I was all set to start chemo on Thursday after getting colonoscopy this morning. Unfortunately they found an obstruction. I had complete hysterectomy and debulking surgery 3.5 weeks ago. Getting a barium enema tomorrow to find out more where obstruction is. This is so discouraging as I just feel like

Large Fibroids and upcoming surgery
I have read a few things on here about fibroids and what you all been through. I have had a difficult journey with doctors to get here, they have messed up and in so many words admitted it. I have surgery to have a total hysterectomy, I am really struggling with this. Has anyone else had a hysterectomy

Rising PSA and want to be the best advocate!
Hello all, I have been following posts here for quite some time, and need a little advice. My father, who is 73, was dx'd with PCA in 2002, PSA 4.2, radical prostatectomy at Mayo, Gleason 3+4, one positive margin. PSA undetectable until winter 2003. Had seven weeks of radiation to the prostate bed at

Do other sufferers feel like they have broken bones for long periods of time?
Most of my pain is concentrated in my feet and lower legs. At times I feel like my toes are broken bones even though I am able to bend them, but mostly I feel like my skin is too tight and or have a burning sensation or feel like my skin is crawling with a parasite. I am getting used to the cramps and

Stressed before surgery
I'm in the USA, FL. So my husband got laid off in Dec which means no insurance. But luckily his old employer is paying for 3 months of health insurance. I was so worried that I wasn't going to get the hysterectomy. I have polyps, fibroids, thickened uterine lining and pre cancerous cells. I think

Breast Tenderness post Eligard
It's been a year since my last 3-month Eligard injection (following radical prostatectomy and salvage radiation) and my PSA level in late November has stayed undetectable while my testosterone level has risen to 13.2 nmol/L. Recently my breasts have become quite tender. Will this resolve on its own or

Agonising bowel cramps post hysterectomy
Hi there, is this something that will ease with time as my bowel learns how to work again? I has endo removed from my bowel at the same time as hysterectomy so could this be why I'm suffering such pain 3 weeks on? X

Is it hypothyroidism and not ADHD?
I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism several years ago and was on Synthroid. I am not sure how it happened, but then I was told my thyroid "corrected" itself and no longer needed to be on it. At the time, I trusted my doctors and didn't know what I know now. I was not doing well at all, but had no

Endometriosis spread to the kidney & ureter, nephrostomy fitted and more major surgery ahead… any advice or similar experience?
Since my last post I have been in and out of hospital ☹️ I had lots of blood in the urine and severe pain in my back and side. After tests and scans they found my left kidney wasn’t functioning and the ureter was blocked all down to growth of endometriosis. The surgeon confirmed in my previous surgery

PCa-specific Survival after Radical Prostatectomy Is Improved by Metformin but not other Antidiabetic Drugs
New study from Finland below [1]. "Only postdiagnostic metformin use was associated with reduced risks of PCa death {53% reduction} and ADT initiation compared with nonusers." While Metformin users would be predominantly diabetic, it looks as though "nonusers" inxlude non-diabetics. "insulin and insulin

Vitamins D and K2 and Adcal
I heard yesterday from my daughter-in-law that my grandson, who suffers from PoTS, had had blood tests done. She said "these show that he has extremely low vitamin D so is starting vitamins this week. I think his new doctor is hoping this may help relieve some tiredness and aches." I sent her this

Has anyone their endo return after a full hysterectomy?
I had a full hysterectomy back in July including ovaries. The endo had also spread to my bowel. Although I wasn't told specifically, the surgeon said my op went well and so I assumed that all the endo had been removed. The past week or so I've been getting some familiar pains back in my lower stomach
