Adenomyosis
I have recently found out I have adenomyosis. This was found during an operation to remove both ovaries and fallopian tubes. My consultant says a hysterectomy is the only cure (which I have no objection too)! In the meantime, she's told me I should not go on HRT as that will make the adenomyosis

How do you feel about HRT and endometriosis after ovary removal?
Hi all, I am 41 and have had severe endometriosis since I was a teenager. 4 years ago I had a hysterectomy and endometriosis excision but kept one ovary. Everything was great for ages, still is really, I'm in 90% less pain but now I have a large endometrioma cyst on my remaining ovary which I'm having

66 year old father - prostate cancer spread to pelvis - advice please
Hi all, I'm posting about my 66 year old dad. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer this year and had a radical prostatectomy in late July. His starting PSA was 7.5 and he had gleason 4+5. He had a scan pre-surgery and they said the cancer was contained in the prostate. He got his bloodwork back and

Evening all, I have had endometriosis for quite a number of years, have had numerous laparoscopies and been on a few contraceptive pills. my endo completely blocked both fallopian tubes making it impossible to have children without IVF intervention. 4 cycles later I had twin boys delivered by C-section

Hysterectomy during covid 😰😭
So I’m having a hysterectomy next week. He’s removing everything except an ovary. Excising more of my Endometriosis. Removing my cervix as I also have Adenomyosis and hopefully unwebbing everything which is stuck together. I’ve been waiting for over a year. This will be my 3rd surgery for stage 4

Itchy burning face, ears, neck
Just over a week ago I started having watery diarrhoea. Have now spoken to my GP and taken a stool sample for analysis but thankfully it is now clearing up. Don't know whether its connected but the skin on my face is burning, very itchy especially when in bed or warm. Its on my face down my neck,

When should I be taking these vitamins and tablets?
Hi I’m currently pregnant and taking more tablets than normal so wondered if anyone had any advice on when I should be taking the following? Levothyroxine - I take it as soon as I wake in the morning then wait an hour at least before eating or drinking tea. Iron - twice daily - I take it around midday

Vit D levels
Afternoon all Had some of my blood tests back and the only abnormal one at the moment is the Vit D, which I had thought might be low, but is this an AdCal job or something else needed? Serum total 25-OH vit D level 39.4 nmol/L 50 - (normal) Many thanks, as always. Peter

It's just life
I don't mean to seem negative even though I know I will come across as such. Because I want to talk about the things we all fear, the things we hide behind a smile. The truth. Life can be good and bad. I read about people encouraging other's not to lose hope in love & they will find their other half

Inflammation dampening??
Good evening everyone, it has taken me nearly 5 years to get to 5mg for the 2nd time. First time I've dropped without any side effects 2 weeks ago. Then 3 nights ago I suddenly found I can get up easily from an armchair during the evening whereas I've always been very stiff (no pain though). I'm trying

Resetting the Bar of Castration Resistance - Understanding Androgen Dynamics in Therapy Resistance and Treatment Choice in PCa
New paper below [1]. I have watched plenty of videos where Neal Shore, Alicia Morgans & Charles Ryan get together at a conference to discuss the presentations that interested them. Here they are in a paper - can a video be far behind? I think that the paper addresses some issues that have often been

Statin use and risk of PCa biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy.
New study below [1]. "In the largest reported surgical cohort to date, we investigated the effect of statin therapy on BCRF {biochemical recurrence free} and overall survival in patients with CaP who have undergone radical prostatectomy (RP)." "We performed a retrospective analysis of men (n = 3,088)

Second DEXA Scan Results
In 2018 I had a DEXA scan which showed osteopaenia. NOF was -2, total hip -1.3 and spine -1.9. A few weeks after that scan which, fortunately was done on my left side, I broke my right NOF running a marathon (no fall, classed as a high impact event) and joined this forum. I did leave hospital with

Rectal prolapse repair
I am scheduled to have rectal prolapse repair having previously had a hysterectomy and radiotherapy. The surgery was not keyhole. I am concerned about outcomes. Has anyone else had similar?

Bowel endo
Hi does anyone have endo of the bowel. I’ve had a total hysterectomy and only have one ovary left but I’m still in agony daily. The gynae rang last Saturday and said there’s nothing else he can do for me and discharged me back to my doctors to get them to refer me to someone to now look at my bowels
