Test tomorrow - what about HRT?

Hi all. I’m having my Medichecks blood test done tomorrow morning. I stopped all supplements two weeks ago. I took my thyroxine as normal last night and won’t take any tonight. But what should I do about my HRT? Can I take that as normal this morning and tonight? I have progesterone, estrogen and testosterone cream as I had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago. Bit reluctant to stop it as it messes me up when I miss some but will do if it will affect my results in any way. Thank you.

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning.

Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning.

Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

These gives 24 hours between last dose levothyroxine and blood test

You will have left 36 hours before test…so will have false low Ft4

TSH won’t be affected

You only need to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before tests as biotin can falsely affect test results - eg vitamin B complex

Don’t know about HRT, but agree you probably don’t want to stop taking it

Thank you so much. I took thyroxine last night so I’ll do the blood test Tuesday morning instead. So I’ll take thyroxine Monday morning, then Tuesday morning after test and then Tuesday night.

I take my HRT as normal the evening before. I dont think it alters any tests.
