Nicotine addiction.
People trying to
quit
smoking
often become discouraged when they don't succeed at first. Research shows that the more times you try, the more likely you are to succeed - so don't give up! Expectations (prognosis): Nicotine withdrawal is short-lived and should pass in time.

A long road to recovery...
Also palnning to go to
quit
smoking
this weekend hoping I get prescribed champix as smoking brings me no pleasure anymore. One thing I find myself yearning for is a friend, I can't remember the last time I had the comfort of a true friend.

ARE WE .....
In other words, we want to
quit
smoking
and we want to
quit
NOW not in 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months, NOW, if not sooner. For me therefore, frustration is an emotional response to our quitting and emotion is defined as a state of (i) joy; (ii) sorrow; (iii) fear; (iv) hate and (v) anger.

I HATE
Scared that I will never, ever be free of smoking and when you’re scared you do what comes naturally when you’ve done it for so long and you smoke - you don’t
quit
- you take the easy option and carry on
smoking
but in private so that your other half doesn’t know. Shame, yes.

Diagnosed COPD and quit smoking, 11/09. No flare-ups since. Been on Advair with no need for emergency inhalers. Exercise- walk, garden, and
elliptical. Pulse oximeter used to monitor, Try to stay at 90+. I gained 45 pounds since I quit. Now have lost 15 through diet and exercise. I think the steroid in Advair has something to do with the gain. I just switched to Spiriva 4 days ago. I have noticed an increase in my O2 level at rest and exercise

So near to and surrounded by areas like this!! My trusty little camera caught this view yesterday afternoon whilst walking my dogs. Isn’t life just absolutely glorious!!! Well, I’ve finished getting the car ready for the show tomorrow – started yesterday and done the finishing touches today. Hey,

Hey guys its been a while since I've been on.. Just super doooer busy.. Still not smoking and am starting to see some real difference in my health. I have started going swimming again - before I quit I struggled to swim.. I'd get out of breath or start coughing.. Well I've been back swimming in order

Morning all, I seem to be doing OK after not having a cig for 24 days but two things concern me..... 1) i have not developed (as yet) the nasty, clearing cough (did i waste my smoking carreer by not smoking enough????) 2) i am due off the Champix soon, are there any asverse withdrawal symptoms

Quit

MY NIGHT FOR QUESTIONS BUT THIS ONES NOT RELATED TO SMOKING - WELL NOT REALLY BUT PERHAPS A LITTLE BIT ...
I have on my computer the
Quit
Smoking
shortcut as it seemed like a good idea when EmJay talked about it a little while ago. Don't have a mobile phone so could do an 'app' if that's the right word.

FRIENDS .....
It is never easy to make any decision but the decision we have made to unite on this forum to
quit
smoking
is probably one of thee biggest of our lives. It is definitely in the ‘big and tough’ league and is most certainly life changing.

Why do only some people get copd?
Smoking
for years doesn`t effect her. I
quit
smoking
6 years ago and it takes me all my time some days to walk down the street and when I do I can`t hold a conversation with someone. It doesn`t seem fair, is it in our biological make-up or something?

SINNER ME!!!!!
Only one way to say this my friends (could be ex-friends very shortly) on my 44th day everything just got too much and I lit up properly. Never mind that it was only the one – so far anyway – one is one too many. Just reflex I think – got myself into a state while combing and bathing my two and rather
