Hi all. I was diagnosed with AF on the 18 July as I had trouble breathing, so I went to see my GP. I’ve always led a active life so I was surprised to hear about AF. With in three days I had an ECG in the morning. That afternoon I was to see another GP. GP then made appointments for blood tests and echo

Low red cell count but eat lots of red meat!
Hello again, just wanted to check this out with people as I do get quite tired in the afternoon and need to rest. Is this anaemia and so do I supplement with iron? Is there a good one for people with hashimotos?I have been told I have weak digestion and I feel I don't absorb things like iron very well

She asked what I did when I went into afib and I said I had a natty piece of tech that does an instant ECG and tells you your heat rate. She wanted to try it out . We could not get it to work . It kept

This post has been sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb. A new trial is assessing whether a type of immunosuppressant is safe and effective for people with SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus). This trial is recruiting now. You can find out more information about the trial in our article here: https://lupusuk.org.uk

Thyroid Scan
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis I’m curious to know what would show up on the scan to indicate autoimmune thyroid disease as opposed to it being caused by subacute thyroiditis.

My husband is in permanent AF, he has seen a doctor who didn’t seem worried , but told him to have an ECG. Unfortunately their ECG machine isn’t working and he has now been waiting four weeks for one. Should he be worried, he seems ok in himself. Every one here is so supportive I would like to hear

Arthritis and P.A
Today the g.p. has told me that the mri I had shows arthritis in my upper back and neck. He says its likely to be osteoarthritis rather than rheumatoid arthritis. I told him I have pain every day and it's bad. I also have pain in my hip, elbow and hands. He said to have more blood tests and see the physio

Atrial Fibrilation & Exercise
Hello! I just wanted to share my story here. I'm in my mid-40s and have had paroxysmal Atrial Fibrilation since early 30s. When I get AF, it never goes away on it's own. The only thing I know which gets it back to sinus rhythm is strenuous exercise. Either a run, jog, or brisk hillwalking- something
