Hi Donna,

I had an elastography done. Are these ranges applicable to that as well? Which is more reliable a Fibroscan or elastography?

I just posted an article about MRE. I hope it helps.... an MRE is more sophisticated imaging.

I did. I did not have an MRE. Mine was ultrasound elastography. Not sure if that is as good as a fibroscan.

Thank you. Where I live there is no Fibroscan machine. Had an ultrasound elastography done in 2021. Based on those results I flew to Seattle, Wa to have a Fibroscan on a Fibroscan machine in 2022. Just had another elastograpy done my Kpa score was 6.43. In 2022 my score was 5.2 on the Fibroscan machine. I am unclear on which way is more reliable. My understanding is that the ultrasound result is based on the opinion of the radiologist.

I would think if you have it done at a larger medical center they are more skilled at what they do just due to the number of tests they do. I'm not sure the interpretation of the reading - that would surely make a difference if the doctor doesn't do these very often. I would just ask......
