I went here balticmedicalcentre.co.uk/s... it was only 80 quid when I had it done. They were lovely and the word they used for my thyroid was 'withered'. In other words, autoimmune thyroid disease. Never even told my tw*t of a doctor. I think if I told him I'd gone private and they found I had a swinging brick instead of a heart, he would have just grunted and continued typing 'worried well' into his computer 🙄
I have a confirmed congenital atrophied thyroid (literally half a thyroid, right side only), no surgery .Apparently very rare, probably why I’m getting nowhere with Dr’s as they shy away.
I’ve had lots of scans and tons of blood tests, hormone, syntheses etc over years….normal, apart from low folate.
I experience all the symptoms and issues that go along with hashimotos, have for years. Even my private consultant said sometime bloods are normal, yet he is doing nothing.
Currently, after flu I’m experiencing what seems to be subacute thyroiditis.
All truly infuriating and just left to feel frequently unwell.
