20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis

I’m curious to know what would show up on the scan to indicate autoimmune thyroid disease as opposed to it being caused by subacute thyroiditis.

I suggest you have a look at this page on Radiopaedia:

Hashimoto thyroiditis

radiopaedia.org/articles/ha...

Maybe wander round the rest of the site using different search terms (e.g. "autoimmune thyroid").

Yo Dizzy

I went here balticmedicalcentre.co.uk/s... it was only 80 quid when I had it done. They were lovely and the word they used for my thyroid was 'withered'. In other words, autoimmune thyroid disease. Never even told my tw*t of a doctor. I think if I told him I'd gone private and they found I had a swinging brick instead of a heart, he would have just grunted and continued typing 'worried well' into his computer 🙄
