Wet weather!
I am newly diagnosed but I just wondered if anyone else is reacting to this terrible UK weather?? I’ve been on Clenil modulite preventer twice a day for 2 weeks now & it seemed to have worked wonderfully at first, I went over a week without needing to use my Ventolin. The last few days have brought torrential

Today’s Lunch
Today, I had a chicken breast with creamy dill sauce, peaches (chunks), milk, cooked broccoli and mashed sweet potatoes at work for lunch. It was really good and low carb.. it had 52 carbs..

Calorie Control

Hi. I started LCHF 6 weeks ago. It took a couple of weeks to get to grips with it so I’d say for 4 weeks I’ve stayed within 20g daily net carbs. I lost 6 lb initially but for last 12 days have been hovering between 6-7lb loss but not seeing any more movement. Should I be doing something different now

ICD Confusion
My husband had a STEMI in August 2018. Unfortunately, he delayed treatment for 8 hours, thinking he was suffering from food stuck in his throat. He had a stent fitted. His first echocardiogram 4 days later revealed an EF of 39% and damage to the left ventricle wall. After a week stay in hospital where

I think this couple may have issues :-)
I think the lady is on a very high carb, no calorie restriction diet. I think the man is on a LCHF diet.

Hypoglycemia after IL
Hi all, I so appreciate this site for all the feedback, encouragement and good information from those who have "been there". My husband is 14 months post IL and recently been suffering with symptoms we now recognize as hypoglycemia. He gets clammy, shakes all over, light headed and weak if he goes too

does the hot weather effect your asthma?
so i have been given some antibiotics as i have a slight rattle on my chest and some prednisilone for a week and they have upped my symbicort. my peak flow right now average is 610 but my throat feels a bit tight, it is warm today though i am always reluctant to use my ventolin because of my anxiety,

Extreme lethargy/fatigue on low carb?
Does this happen? I've been doing LCHF for about 3 weeks now. I did have a little blip about 2 weeks in (loads of lentils and rice) but I got back on track. The last few days/week or so I have been feeling extremely lethargic and fatigued, I can hardly lift my arms or legs. It feels like walking through

Runniversary - what a difference a year makes!
Yesterday was the anniversary of my starting c25k. So what's happened during that year? Well Runkeeper tells me that I've completed 151 runs, totalling 1290 km. I graduated c25k on 25 July and after consolidation, started to work towards 10k, which I achieved in October. I've done 31 parkruns and volunteered

Low carb diet
Heading off next week (yes I know I have only been back from New Zealand three weeks) for a trip to the Bavarian Alps on the Harley with a mate of mine. Thought I would strip off a few of the New Zealand lbs and make space for a few bratwurst and small beers. So I have been doing low carb for the past

Am I at risk of an attack?
Here's a overview of my relationship with the condition. I've had Asthma since a early age. I was hospitalised about 4 years of age and had to have a nebuliser then, but not anything serious like that ever since. I've recently got a spacer and I'm taking Ventolin and a 125 dose of Seritide 2 puffs, twice

combisal versus seretide
Is anyone else finding that combisal is not as effective as seretide? I have been having lower peak flow readings with combisal. Also it is harder to press down so that the metered dose is not accurate.

Low-carb diet and AF
There was a recent posting about research that indicated an increased risk of AF with low-carb diets. The research apparently had some flaws that several posters noted. Here's an anecdote about my own experience... I have basically been on draconian low-carb for 10 years or so. That is the same time

Peak flow reducing on ICS
Hi, can anyone tell me why my son's peak flow is lower since using seretide? His highest is 210 and he's just been gradually getting lower over about 4 months and had now been consistently around 150 about 2 months. The only time that it has gone back up is when he has had ibuprofen.

Soy yogurt
Hi. Over the last three weeks, I've started eating lots of Asda Soy and coconut yogurt. (9 per cent soy). It tastes delicious and has no carbs, unlike dairy. It's a great low carb addition to my diet. I am hypo, taking levo, and feeling very well. Will eating lots of this yogurt affect me??
