Help with Keto
Hi everyone. I'm Paul from Birmingham. I'm new to this group. Following recent bloods (I have RA) my Rheumatology nurse called me and advised that I was pre diabetic. She told me about a low carb diet and sent me some information to get me started. I was quite alarmed by the diagnosis and decided to

Asthma Flare-up
My asthma has been flaring up over the last week with the usual symptoms of coughing, feeling tight-chested and breathless, so I started my rescue pack of steroids. I saw the nurse at my GP practice on Wednesday, who was less than helpful, she basically told me that because my chest was clear, they wouldn't

Asthma Appointment
So I went to see the nurse at my practice today because my asthma has flared up and although my chest is clear she's told me to finish my course of steroids because my peak flow is low (270 usually 450) and I'm tight chested and a little breathless and she's changed my steroid inhaler from Flutiform

My visit to a new MDS
I had a great 1st visit with a new MDS last week. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. To be honest, I am very pleased! The visit lasted over 3 hours one on one. He told me I have no symptoms of MSA or PSP, so he recommended against a DAtScan. He conducted a cognitive exam, found no evidence of

Asthma under control; yet, coughing up stuff and breathlessness, on occasion.
My asthma is allegedly under control and not too bad, as measured by peak flow and spirometry tests. Nevertheless, I have periods of breathlessness, cough, and bringing up yellow stuff, deep within my chest. This last symptom just occurred a week or so ago; have finished some antibiotics for it. But

Tapering too fast? Advice needed please
I have found this site invaluable and until now haven't had the confidence to post anything. But I have reached an all time low over the past week and really need your help. I have completed my bio today which gives background info - it is a long story though! I have copied some of the info into this

Does the low carb approach to eating also help the pain of PMR?
This was flagged in my Inbox today - and might account for why some people experience increased pain when they binge on "treats" after being on low carb eating for a while. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/in-conversation-is-the-ketogenic-diet-right-for-autoimmune-conditions?utm_source=Sailthru

Just done w5, r2, yet again, same route along canal (fairly flat). Less distance this time, but heat affecting asthma, peak flow rate down from about 700 on a good day to just about 500 today, so with breathing capacity reduced, I don't mind running a bit slower and less distance, at least I made the
