Is a Ketogenic diet actually beneficial for Kidneys
In the same way that eating eggs doesn't cause cholesterol is controlling your blood sugar, rather than a low protein diet key to reversing kidney damage? Ken Berry thinks so. Thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QadlpylF-tw

Low Carb, High Fat - Well That Didn't Work Did It!
Many of you will know that I have been a Type 1 diabetic since the 1960s. Besides this site I keep a watching brief on a few diabetes sites. One thing being very much pushed is a low carb, high fat (LCHF) diet. Claims include that it achieves better diabetic ciontrol and despite being high in saturated

Low sodium diet
Hi everyone!I am here, on this forum for my husband's CKD/proteinuria (all unexplained- kidney biopsy was "normal" as well as his genetic test). Anyway, his Nephrologist put him on low sodium November 30th. I went on it with him and haven't had a migraine since! So for those of you who are supporting

Fibro v Gabapentin v Pregabalin v Duloxetine or just a whole new way of approaching it.
Hello all. I hope today finds you all coping one way or another😀 Now having posted a few weeks back about severe stiffness & fibro and having many of you kindly answer and offers of some really helpful advice I decided unless I try and make a change my life was at a real stagnant phase..... Now

W2R1 - a wonderful morning
I was going to do this 'run' yesterday but I woke with a 'thick' knee, thick is probably a little bit of an incorrect description, more like tight/stiff, it normally clears when I've been up and about a little bit. Back to the purpose of this post, I headed downstairs, put the bin out and then went

So pleased
I was told I had NASH a year last October. As a result, I was sent for a Fibroscan and my kpa reading was 36.6. My liver image looked white with fat.I have type 2 diabetes, gall stones and a hiatus hernia. I was floored by the diagnosis and stressed so much. My anxiety level went through the roof. I

Dietary restrictions and the workplace...
Hi all,I am wondering what your experiences with working and your diet? My department got rewarded with a pizza party. I requested a salad to accommodate low sodium diet. I was told no special treatment. Won't be showing up to that lunch despite being the team lead. Thoughts? Am I being the unreasonable

Flare up after a pretty settled period
Two years ago I had a massive flare and was in a lot of pain / extreme fatigue. I was on prednisolone which was like a magic cure initially and then caused a host of gastric problems. I also trialled methotrexate tablets and methotrexate injections and really struggled with the side effects. After about

8 months since first post..new results and questions
8 months on from my first noobie post on the forum asking for help. I’m pretty pleased with this, feeling so much better than I did, the advice here has been life changing. Still work to do, very achy, limited capacity to do anything outside of turning up to work/home stuff but that is an improvement

Luforbec
Hi All, New to the forum and just wondered if anyone is having a problem after being switched from Fostair to Luforbec? I got changed over in December and got very chesty, run down and a lot of mucus production that wouldn't shift. My peak flow dropped about 80 points. I'm not breathless but get out

Ok- been on a variety of anti hypertensives for about 10 years- Ramipril made me cough continually so a couple of others were tried and eventually settled on Losartan 50mg. Until about 3 months ago when it seemed to stop working. Dose increased with no effect so GP added in amlodipine 5mg- cue awful

Diagnosed with ARLD cirrhosis decompensated July 2022. Any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated
I presented to GP with ascities, jaundice and pain in around abdomen. Sent me straight to hospital. Had not been feeling well for a year or so and was putting it down to perhaps the start of menopause or heamacromatosis which is in my family. I had also relapsed after many years of recovery but had to

AFTER ALL THIS TIME TESTED POSITIVE!
Well it has happened and both of us have tested positive for Covid last evening. We tested on Wednesday as it was 2 days since we had been with my son and grandsons (who were over from US) and family in Reading and we were clear. Yesterday afternoon my wife felt rough so tested and she was positive

Singulair - Flu Like Symptoms Side Effect
Hey All! A little bit of background on me. Early October I was infected with COVID-19, I’m 4 times vaxxed, and while it was only two days of symptoms, I ended up with SOB on day 3 which later turned into Long COVID. I was prescribed Flovent and Salbutamol by the ER Doctor, my NP then prescribed me Symbicort
