My visit to a new MDS

I had a great 1st visit with a new MDS last week. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. To be honest,  I am very pleased!  The visit lasted over 3 hours one on one.  He told me I have no symptoms of MSA or PSP, so he recommended against a DAtScan. He conducted a cognitive exam, found no evidence of cognitive decline. He told me that while the research is not conclusive, it suggests low carb dieting benefits PWP. He said the same goes for broccoli sprouts.   He told me that in general, his patients that exercise regularly do better than those who don’t.  He RX’d Rytary which seems to be “smoother” than the CL I was taking. Just started, so we’ll see how it goes over time. Overall the visit was outstanding.

Glad you had a positive experience . I waited 6 months for an appointment with a movement specialist that was sure to be outstanding. He spent 15min with me after I spent 45 minutes with a dr.working on his fellowship..The fellowship dr.told me to switch my timings for medication from 1 c/l every 6 hours to 1 every 4hrs none after 6 PM. He then questioned the baclofen I was prescribed and said I needed to get off it.It was prescribed by a rehabilitation specialist for muscle spasms and some spasticity.I had to complete an 11 page form prior to the visit and was told to decide what 3 questions I wanted the dr to answer. He also said rytary had nasty side effects and he would not recommend it for control release. Every one I have talked to that uses it have no complaints. Wishing you continued success and would like to hear how things go for you. Please update.

Gosh! Where? Who? Will you name names? It's one thing to name people to complain about them, but somehow I feel like when you have praise like this it's a good thing! This guy deserves lots of business :o)

Good feeling when there is a connection with you and a doctor and devoted one-on-one time is practically unheard of these days.

Nice to read positive news.
