Hello!
New here so just a big Hello first! So I've just got back from my first Couch to 5K run, my first attempt at running for over a year! Hopefully the first step to reversing my type 2 diabetes or at least coming of medication, and to bringing down my blood pressure.

Diabetes and LCHF
I flagged up a new(ish) paper in the LCHF group, on the topic of treating Type 1 Diabetes with a low-carb diet. T1 patients have been rather neglected during the upsurge of attention of T2, so this is quite intriguing (if you like that sort of thing). I'm reposting a link here because (especially in

Medical Revolution Glucose Spike
Very informative video. A must watch. Blood sugars should not rise above 140 any time. So, instead of 2 hr. ppbs, check blood sugars at one hour. Higher than 140 blood sugars suggests insulin resistant. https://youtu.be/8MOaZJFsl00

Fantastic workout tracking app for PWPs
If you are reading this then you are aware the specific work out routine for a PWP has many custom exercises that the major tracking apps do not have. I found a fantastic app that you can customize every part and it has the tracking reports for the custom exercises. That is the good news. But it is

Pre Diabetes Referral
You might have recently been referred for a
Pre
Diabetes
programme by your GP. Don’t ignore this referral. It doesn’t mean you have diabetes. The worst part is trying to get on the course. Administration is not there strong point. Persevere. I suggest calling them often rather than email.

Please Lead MY Wife Light
Both I and my wife have been suffering from Diabetes type 2 for a few years. My fasting BS is 105 and PPBS is 163. But I am much worried with the health of my wife whose FBS is 260 and PPBS is 375. I take no medicine but my wife has been taking medicines since detection, but in vain. I presume she follows

I have cirrhosis and an enlarged spleen with varices. I am also a type 2 diabetic and about 2 stone overweight. In January this year I decided to go low carb, highish fat and protein. I lost two and a half stone in about 3 months and was able to stop injecting insulin. I usually have a large bowl of

Insulin Response: It Comes from Eating Protein Too
“While high protein, virtually no-carb foods like meat and eggs are low on the glycemic index, they measure high on the insulin index. In other words, while the meat and eggs didn't cause a spike in blood sugar the way most carbohydrates do, they do result in a significant rise in insulin.” https://

Junk Clickbait Headlines Mischaracterize Interesting Study
Per USA Today: "Low-carb diet linked to early death, medical study suggests" "Cutting carbohydrates might also cut lifespan by up to four years, according to a new medical study." Wow - it sure seems like the keto diet contingent has it all wrong... Until you look at the study, here: https://www.thelancet.com
