planning one thing then doing another!
So for my first run in couple of weeks and I had originally planned to ease back into it gently and not risk picking up a niggly injury. Plus I was feeling a bit low after not running so the idea was to pep myself up and go back to familiar territory with Laura & the W9 podcast. Walking down the road

Premature Speedaculation!
Went out this morning and attempted my 5K route using a new tactic - (yet another bloomin' new tactic...!). To run the first 2 K's as fast as possible and then see what happened. I set off like a rocket. Smoke came from my running shoes, my skin looked like I'd had a terrible facelift by an unqualified

Festival time... big test!
Today I leave to go to my first ever festival with my boyfriend, and his sister and her boyfriend. I'm feeling a mixture of apprehension, nerves, excitement and fear... I've been looking forward to this day for so long, and I suppose part of the reason why I'm all nervy is totally normal- 1st time, what

Help with Armour and high bp please
Have managed to get myself up to 1.5 grains of armour, no levo, feeling ok, just a bit undermedicated. Cortisol results show low cortisol throughout the day and high DHEA, the results came back with a comment stating there is a recent study showing low cortisol and high DHEA can be a marker for PTSD

Think I need the tablets now.....
This EMDR is so tough at the moment. Still suffering PTSD from an experience from years ago that has re-emerged with the therapy I have had from the recent trauma. Have started on the citalopram as I am so scared about how I'm feeling, trying not to slip back into that black hole.............

My first blog as a graduate :-)
I went out feeling not just a little apprehensive this morning. After the elation of completing week 9 ...would I be able to do it again? I don't know why but i felt that I was kidding myself and that last week was just 3 flukes. So when I reached 20 mins and was flagging a bit, I gave myself

Bank Holiday Birthday Bonanza!
I'd mentioned in my last post that I really struggled with one of my runs in May because I had a cold. I just about managed a 15 min run instead of my usual 30. I thought I was feeling better but I actually ended up being seriously disappointed as the next two runs petered out as well (20 mins and 15

IT IS JUST STRESS
I was at the doctor today for my thyroid results. My FTF4 TT4 results I cannot remember the exact figures were normal but at the lower end. The doctor said the other results were OK but she didn't have the figures but they must be OK because a box had been ticked. I was in tears I have also recently

Having a PEG fitted
My Father in Law has PSP but because he had Neuropathic problems previously we do not know how long he had it before he was told he also has PSP. Is there a way of knowing what stage of the illness he is at. At the last meeting with the specialist he recommend and that he had a PEG fitted. I have a

Gone as far as having to see a 'shrink'
I put a blog on here quite a few weeks back when I was at my lowest. I won't repeat it all again save to say that last year I went through a pregnancy termination with my girlfriend who then left me. I found out that she has now moved on and met someone else recently and it has utterly smashed me.

post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety problems
Hyperarousal (feeling 'on edge') Someone with PTSD may be very anxious and find it difficult to relax. They may be constantly aware of threats and easily startled. This state of mind is known as hyperarousal. Irritability, angry outbursts, sleeping problems and difficulty concentrating are also common

Week 2/Run 3 - The First Bad One.
Hi all, just hoping for a bit of a vent and hopefully a pep talk here. I just finished my last run of week 2 - a really bad one. I had to stop twice with really bad stitches and breathlessness and struggled to make it to the end of the 90 seconds on each run. I wasn't able to switch off and enjoy it

W9/R2 phone app vs iPod app
Well graduation is in sight, only one run to go :) But back to my heading, I have for the past 12 weeks been using my phone which is great at mapping my run and giving me all the stats but the encouraging voice of Laura is definitely lacking for instance my last run consisted of warm up, run, half way

Being a parent with pain
It was hard enough when they were really small and I had numerous days of "one of mummy's bad face aches". CBeebies was a regular baby sitter, though they seem to be none the worse for it. They are more independent as they grow, though still rely on me for a lot of things. At least they can safely
