My poorly boy
Hi all, think I am after a bit of moral support and any advice from parents of teens really or maybe just needing to offload. My nearly 13 year old son has been asthmatic pretty much all his life, had taken him the the GP several times before he had an analphylactic allergic reaction at 9 months old

Allele burden gone down
Hi I’ve just come back from seeing my new haematologist. I’d been feeling more than usually tired and easily upset, and had had a recurrencece of bone pain in my arns, and had had the dreaded pruritis for the first time last night. And the fuzzy head and memory lapses were bothersome, too. I was

Any advice?
I’ve been asthmatic since childhood, but never a problem. However caught flu and then pneumonia at Christmas, ended up in hospital for 4 days, felt mostly better after 3 months and a change to Fostair (using as reliever also as needed) + monteleukast. Then I caught a virus in April, back in hospital

Well on the advice of the nurse I stopped the Hydroxychloroquine for a week and restarted them this week. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like this is the right medication for me. All the side effects I was experiencing came back with a vengeance. I persevered even taking an antihistamine along with it

should I take my methotrexate with 2 massive insect bites?
Hi all, went walking Monday in woodland and now have 2 almighty bites on the back of both legs which are a bit grumpy to say the least. I am wondering if I should leave my methotrexate off this week so these can settle down and then I can take antihistamine too. Also on benepali due Friday. I have always

Help and thoughts confused
Rhumotology appointment , update Rhumatologist doesn’t think it’s lupus but then he’s now said I don’t have fibromyalgia and they diagnosed that three years ago lupus is notoriously difficult to diagnose but a new test in America is due here soon .. He has said a antihistamine to dampen down things

Hyperthyroid - What else is there to do?
I’m a female, 33 years old, married, no kids. I discovered I had hyperthyroidism about 3 months ago. I’d gone in for an obgyn appt because I missed a period in March and then had a very light period in April. We were hoping to start getting pregnant. The doctor did a blood test that showed it was a problem

Time for the summer break
As children break up from school it's time for me to take a break from the site. Summer is my time to be at my healthiest and usually when I don't touch my ventolin what so ever. Although the hay fever season has me needed prescribed antihistamine. I did have a wake up call this week when walking pass

Things that trigger and help my RLS
Hi everyone. I’ve had RLS since I was a baby. Grew up being told it was all in my head. Triggers: Bananas, antihistamines (allergy meds), cheese is the worst, all dairy, anticholingerics (NyQuil, sleeping pills), melatonin, winter season, room is too hot, small amounts of alcohol, being dehydrated,

7 week cough
I’ve had shortness of breath, chest tightness and a cough for just over seven weeks. At first I was diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory tract infection and sent on my way with an inhaler (that doesn’t help). It got worse and then I was diagnosed with a bacterial chest infection and given a weeks

Difficulty sleeping, wheeze, and avoiding those paramedics!
It was this time last year my asthma decided to become brittle. I spent over a month with attacks on and off,in and out of hospital and over 6 weeks on steroids. Does Riveroxoban cause itching?
Hi all, Hope all are enjoying this weather? But I think for most of us with APS and a lot more illnesses causes problems. I won’t bore you with all my problems, but does anyone suffer with itchiness? Since this hot weather I have suffered with excessive itchiness just between my shoulder blades. My GP

W6R2 done after nasty horsefly bite 😳
Very pleased to be back running after 11 whole days of pain and swollen foot. Could hardly weight-bear at first and then it just got worse! After lots of antihistamines, an assortment of creams and painkillers - it's almost gone. I've done this run twice this week to ease myself in gently and am pleasantly

That's Training Scuppered :(
Apologies for anyone squeamish. I am in the IC with a sodding horse fly bite. Antihistamines not worked, nor anthesan cream so got hydrocortisone cream to try but pharmacist said elevation as well. Does anyone know anything else which works? Plus can anyone recommend a good repellent as the normal stuff

Are Hay fever tablets bad for ckd?
Just wondering if your average hay fever tablets could harm kidney functions at all? I usually get very bad hay fever this time of the yr but I do not if I can help it take any meds unless it gets really bad. Antihistamines do work but I’m always conscious of any effects from any over the counter meds

Horrible allergic reaction!
Hello all, I’ve been taking prednisalone for about 2 months now with no issues. Started taking hydroxychloroquine about 2 weeks ago and since Tuesday I’ve had the most horrific rash all over my body! Been to gp and walk I Centre who says it’s an allergic reaction to the medication which I’ve now stopped
