New girl unsure of what things mean
Hi Im new here & unsure of what this all means. I have had a few episodes of chest pain with pain in my jaw. (Four times it has happened in 7 weeks) GTN spray does help, I have needed to use it twice in two of my funny turns & three times twice. No evidence of a heart attack from ECG or blood tests

Post SBRT CAT Scan
I had a follow up CAT scan earlier this week and the results showed
pleural
effusion
and the radiologist could not determine if the targeted tumor was still there or not. Now I wait to see my medical oncologist on Nov. 30 to discuss these results.

Spinal Fusion identified while on Lung Transplant List
Good morning all, I have been listed on the Lung Transplant List for over 2 1/2 years now. They noticed I had the start of osteoporosis when I was officially listed which they put down to years of taking prednisolone. I have recently had another bone density scan and it showed up a spinal fusion? Has

Greetings
Hello all. I am new to the site. I have been searching for a MBC-specific group to join since our situation is vastly different than many others. I went through my initial Breast Cancer starting in 2012. Stage 3. Chemo, radiation, bilateral mastectomy, reconstruction. All was well until October

Should I push harder for tests to rule out essential thrombocythemia?
I have a complex medical history, mixed connective tissue disease, RA, eosiniophilc esophagitis, hypopituitarism, adrenal insufficiency, exercise anaphylaxis, a bunch of things that are unrelated, some serious, some annoyances. I have extremely high bone density, so have degenerative spinal disease

On the edge with too many decisions
Long story, some venting, need input. Some of you have followed my story of my major car accident last March. It was the other driver’s fault, but I was really hurt. So, on top of COVID-19, I was hospitalized alone, had no job, and spent 9 moths in physical therapy only to have them tell me they have

Pleural effusion drying up
I'm new here, so I hope this makes sense. When first diagnosed with there was a lot of fluid in my pleural cavity, and a catheter was inserted. To start with I was producing about 200ml of fluid per day. In the last couple of months this has diminished to about 200ml per week. My GP is surprised at this

A glimmer of hope…
I’ve been on the IC for over 18 months now, I see a few familiar names that I remember from when I was here last. I SO miss running, not only for the physical benefits but for the mental health benefits too. I’ve been out due to osteoarthritis in my foot, I’ve got to the stage where I can’t even walk

Update: Liver Mets and falling tumor marker numbers
I still have a large
pleural
effusion
that makes exercise difficult, so we'll drain that one more time, and my doc feels it will stay gone with the Abraxane.

Has anyone had ACDF/Discectomy & Spinal Fusion Surgery?
Has anyone had this surgery? I’m a potential candidate for this is have large herniated discs in C5-6 & C7-8. My Neurosurgeon said that first option would be a nerve block of pain wasn’t improving (it isn’t) but I feel this would only help pain and wouldn’t sort out the problem itself. I’m a 30 year

Questions for the RO for my upcoming video conference regarding options for early salvage treatment (and ADT) after Radical Prostatectomy?
I had my radical prostatectomy (RP) on 6/3/2019. Given my pathological results (see below for details) and the definite trend in my PSA levels over the last 18 months (see graph below), my surgeon now thinks I should pursue early salvage radiation therapy and I agree, but now trying to decide on the

Usage of Timolol is suitable for night time?
Hi all, There are some advices that Timolol is not effective at night time for reducing IOP. And as it has a side effect to lower blood pressure, it seems using this before sleeping may bring some risk to optic nerve (as low blood pressure with high IOP at night can lead to low perfusion pressure,

Anyone else been microchipped with a loop recorder ECG ?
I had mine fitted last Saturday. Just healed over, with one stitch, after they injected it in to my chest. Getting used to the idea of it slowly.... It sends data to the hospital every night by satellite and I can use a bleep key to get a reading whenever I get symptoms of chest pain or palpitations

Covid - how long til Xray shows improvement?
Everyday they do the X-ray and there is no improvement on the consolidation and now shows a small
pleural
effusion
on the left lung. She also has subcutaneous emphysema. Ventilator back to 100 and she’s saturating 93%.
