Just a quick update
I thought I had done this a couple weeks ago but I can't seem to find my post anywhere... I had the visit to the rheumy and many other visits with other specialists. Seems all is good so far with a few suprises. My ANA was positive at 1:80 and speckeled pattern. I also tested positive for Lyme

I am writing on behalf of my wonderful Dad Stan.
This last week he had a CT scan which shows he has a
pleural
effusion
, we saw the oncologist on Wednesday and he was admitted to hospital for a chest drain to be inserted, which they did on Friday, over the weekend 5.5 litres of fluid has been drained off his left lung.

Running for health
In Feb 2009 I went for a routine eye exam. My Optician sent me immediately to Bristol eye hospital due to an abnormality in my eyes. When I got there they checked my blood pressure and found it was high. 257/195 and this had pushed my eyes out of shape. I was immediately admitted to Bristol Royal Infirmary

Anyone had a spinal fusion operation?
I have to have a spinal fusion op of the lumbar region. I'm looking for any info on how to cope when coming out of hospital - showering, laying in bed, how active are you. Anything would be appreciated.

Hope even when diagnosed stage 4
I was diagnosed with stage 4 with lung spread following an episode of
pleural
effusion
4 years and a Ca125 of over 6000. To cut a long story short I was given a terminal diagnosis with palliative care only. Lucky for me I saw a wonderful oncologist who commenced taxol and carboplatin chemo.

Anyone had spinal fusion?
I am going to have a spinal fusion operation (only a couple of vertebrae) and I would love to hear from anyone who has had this op. As I live on my own I am wondering how I will manage. How mobile will I be? How long before I am able to get out and about? Is there a time limit on not

One hell of a weekend and I need to get this off my chest.
Hi all, I don't usually blog but I've got to get all this off my chest. I've not had a good Christmas, I fell the week before and ended up with a black eye, cut and bruised face and very sore knees/arms and all the stress caused a flair up and I was in to much whole body pain to enjoy the festive

Things getting out of hand.com
the above should be a web site! It's how I feel at the moment. I was back with my ortho surgeonon Monday, and shocked to learn I will be in this boot cast mostly for another 3 months, and I thought he would be sending me back to work. What a surprise. I can cycle, but not walk too much, muffin tops

Impact of OC on lungs / AVASTIN / Dealing with pain
Since surgery, she had to have her right lung drained as the
pleural
effusion
had filled up with liquid and 1.75 litres of liquid were taken out. She also has an irritating cough with some mucus. She is now having chemo.

My GP says I'm an enigma!
I have been experiencing periods of breathlessness for the last 6 months and my rhuematologist suspected pulmonary fibrosis. After having chest x rays, a high resolution C.T scan, overnight pulse oximetry, a cardiac stress test, ECG,and an echo cardiogram the chest and cardiac consultants have told
