Making memories
Jeff had yet another blood transfusion Saturday. In the event he does get Keytruda next week, it has the propensity to drop these levels. So in lieu of waiting until he was 6.9, they went ahead and ordered the blood transfusion at 7.3. Jeff had a small appetite yesterday morning and felt well enough

Hello ladies. Hope you are all well and having successful fertility journeys. I am getting ready for my last ever transfer after 4 miscarriages. I have a few problems from a uterine abnormality, adenomyosis and a clotting gene mutation. The next step for me is adoption as I can’t keep going on with

New - Additional Treatment Regimen
Good afternoon everyone. I’m about to add several natural items to my daily pill intake. I also started taking 2 tablespoons of papaya leaf extract a day this week to hopefully increase my platelets. In addition to the supplements in the ohoto I’m taking 60mg of melatonin a day The attached photo

Silly little setbacks!
I've been doing a bit of sleuthing! As a rule I don't look at anything medical on Google, but I have had a sneaky feeling that I know the cause of many of my symptoms which have been confirmed with a blood test. What with having blood transfusions, iron, magnesium and other such things, I deduce low

Covid Shot or No Covid Shot. That is the question!
In March of 2021 I received my first Covid 19 shot. A week later my platelets dropped to 3,000. I was put in the hospital and received platelet transfusion and IVIG treatments. A year later I now have Chronic ITP and am on 75 mg of Promacta. My platelet levels are in the normal range now. I was

ATARI trial my update
Hi all. Two months ago I posted about the ATARI trial and that my scan showed my tumours had halved or was hardly measurable. Today I got the results of my second scan and have been told there is no measurable disease . Whilst my tumours were only small I’m really pleased it’s worked so quickly and

Fifty years ago today I had my first loading dose of cyanocobamalin B12. Although my P.A. journey started “officially” on 10th May 1972 events from 13 years before may well have been the true beginning. Around Christmas time in 1958 I started to get “indigestion” pains in my left chest area and these

Traveling on a plane with liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension
Hi I’m new to all this. My partner was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis back in may 2022 and spent 7 weeks in hospital. In February this year he was taken into intensive care with a GI bleed and needed blood transfusions and was told he had portal hypertension. He had a follow up endoscopy 4 weeks later

Hello everyone. I haven’t posted for a while. I completed Xofigo at the end of October. The PET scan showed several tumors were reduced. Then my PSA started doubling each month. Also my RBC stays around 2.4, HGB 8 and platelets 15-20. I’ve taken 2 doses of Docataxel. The first one was only at 50% of

CLL with CNS involvement
Hi All. My fiancé was diagnosed with CLL in early February 2022. He's 36 years old, asmathic but otherwise a very fit guy. Since then he's had partial to paralysis and neurological symptoms. He hasn't been able to have biopsy because his blood counts were very low - basically no hemoglobin, no wbc and

Update
Hello friends. I thought I would let you know how things are going here at Southampton Hospital. It's now about three weeks since I finished the debulking chemotherapy. It was tough and I naively thought that I would start to feel better when it was finished, but I felt very weak and ill for some time
