Hello everyone. I haven’t posted for a while. I completed Xofigo at the end of October. The PET scan showed several tumors were reduced. Then my PSA started doubling each month. Also my RBC stays around 2.4, HGB 8 and platelets 15-20. I’ve taken 2 doses of Docataxel. The first one was only at 50% of the normal dose and the 2nd one at 67%. I’ve gotten blood transfusions the last 2 weeks and it looks like probably one this week as well. My HGB went to 9.6 after the transfusion last Tuesday and was 7.6 today. I think between the Xofigo and the cancer it’s wiped out my bone marrow. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also my AwBC are low I’ve been taking filgastrim shots. Also Xgeva and gosserlin shots
We’re still in the fight but things are looking tough. We continue to trust God and his plan.
Take care
BT

Hello BigTex - I was thinking about you yesterday. I'm happy to see that you posted, but not happy your bone marrow is not bouncing back. Is it possible to take a couple weeks off to get a boost? Is your team thinking Lu-177 ??? Did you try Provenge? Hope you feel better soon! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks j-o-h-n! I just wish I knew how to better. PLTs at 10 getting a transfusion of them in the morning . HGB st .7.5. Praying for some help or guidance.
Thanks I’ve been taking a shot for the WBCs. The only thing we’ve done for RBCs and platelets are transfusions. The MO hasn’t mentioned any other medicine for those two.
There are medication for increasing WBC counts (neupogen) and ones for increasing platelets ( Doptelet). There may be others. They are generally only used when the counts become critical. You counts may be too good to use these medication. For example you only need 600 absolute neutrophils to avoid serious infection. People often don’t bleed until TG here platelet count goes below 5K.
I had a platelet transfusion on Wednesday. They were 17 today up from 10. My HGB was 7.5 today the same as last Wednesday. So at least it’s staying the same. Hopefully it will go up on Wednesday.
