CONFUSED ABOUT DIAGNOSIS
My GP sought the help of an endocrinologist who advised further blood tests after a month off the medication and also to test for prolactin to rule out a
pituitary
tumour
. Latest results (sorry I don't have the paperwork yet) show FT3 and prolactin to be normal (phew!) and TSH at 6.5.

How can chromosomal and mutation abnormalities in chronic MPN inform clinical decision making?
Another interesting post from MPN Hub. Discussion of the three driver mutations and the importance of using the more sensitive tests to diagnose patients with low allele burden. Also discussion regarding prognosis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb9dJILZWGQ

Orchidectomy?
I have no plans to have an orchidectomy but I’m curious why some men do get them. I get that it allows one to avoid needing the periodic injections. But as I understand it one still has to take something to deal with the testosterone that is still produced by the adrenal glands even after the orchidectomy

FDA Panel Rejects Broad Olaparib Indication in Metastatic CRPC — ODAC votes that olaparib-abiraterone comb be restricted to BRCA+ subset
Possible good news on the way for BRCA-mutated PCa patients. In this instance, it seems the ODAC actually read the results of the clinical trial and understood the efficacy (as indicated in the actual trial results) was limited to BRCA-mutated patients. * * * [i]

Association with cancer
I have just read a comment from someone on another forum that cancer is more likely to occur in people with PMR, particularly after 6 months of diagnosis (not sure how PMR knows it's 6 months!). Because one of my blood tests has recently come back abnormal and awaiting a repeat in a month's time as requested

First post!
Hello. Not posted before and feeling nervous! I was diagnosed in 10/22 with HGSOC stage 3 after only a couple of weeks of symptoms. I am being cared for by an amazing team and after finishing 6 rounds of chemotherapy I had surgery on 24/4/23. Complete faith in my surgeon. At surgery they could not remove

ovarian surgery
Hi everyone Was just recommended to see a GYN/Oncologist to discuss having my ovaries removed.. I have the BRIP1 gene mutation. So was there for 2 hours .. very thorough but after giving my whole family history of cancer on both sides (mom n Dad) it went from ovarian surgery to possible hysterectomy

Help with having Armour Thyroid prescribed on NHS.
Hi, My NHS endocrinologist retired and now the current one won't prescribe Armour Thyroid and so I am having to pay for it privately, which I can't afford to continue to do. Does anyone have the name of an NHS endocrinologist that does prescribe Armour Thyroid to their patients, so I can ask my GP to

Berberine godsend
I struggled to get all my "T" levels and TSH normalized. No matter what we did my medicine wasn't helping. I read someplace that taking Berberdine and Ceylon cinnamon helps to keep your levels regulated so I decided to give it a try. I had all kinds of issues not getting my levels up for 2.4 years

Can anyone PM me a source of supply for Armour Thyroid online, as I cannot get it anymore. Worried about being scammed or sent fake products. Thanks in advance.

Newly diagnosed with BC. I am terrified but know I must remain strong to get through this long treatment.
I was diagnosed with BC six days ago and I am looking for a safe place to vent, gather information, and find support. I thought I was safe from any cancer given past genetic testing but also because both my mom and maternal grandmother died from C in their early 50's. I passed both their ages of death
