Thyroid medication and St John's Wort
I used to take St John's Wort but I have been treated with an SSRI for 3 years. I am now coming off this and wondering whether to go back to the STW for a bit of support. I have seen comments that St John's Wort should not be taken with Thyroid medication. However on the Thyroid UK website it mentions

Hi All, My 6 weeks daughter has done kasai procedure due to biliary atresia. Ultimately she has to go for liver transplant (sooner or later). Is there any place in world where lever can donate for small kids.

Biliary atresia
My daughter is diagnosed with biliary atresia when she was 8 weeks ( 9th July 2018 )old . Doctor has suggested the Kasai operation on 14th August. Earlier her bilirubin was 12 but now it is 7.5 . Doctor informed us success rate of this procedure is only 30%. I am very anxious .

Gave up smoking - feeling worse
Hi everyone! I have given up smoking two weeks ago and have been feeling absolutely awful ever since- really exhausted (more than usual) despite the fact I have been off work and on holiday during the whole time. I visited New Zealand and stayed in the mountains and I could barely drag myself out of

Back ache
Does anyone else get that weird feeling when trying to lie down ? It’s like my hips dislocate and my spine won’t lie flat at the base and I can not get comfortable. I know it sounds odd but it’s the best way to explain it 😂 then the jump legs start 😫

Algae Cal for bone density
I have been diagnosed with osteopenia and after a couple of months of high dose vitamin D3 (it had been very low) I was put on Calceos. My sister has done some research for me and suggests that Algae Cal may be more beneficial. Has anyone tried this and improved their bone density with it?

venous blood draws vs finger stick
I was in process of changing Primary Care Docs. That included switching to a different clinic for INR/PT checks. They sent a letter saying they would not offer finger prick tests and insisted that I would need venous blood draws. I am pretty sure this was shown in the group to be a false assumption

The forgotten effects of thyrotropin-releasing hormone: metabolic functions and medical applications
An interesting (and quite long) paper. It certainly is true that you can spend a very long time reading about thyroid and hardly ever see TRH mentioned.
