Gum lesions from Hydrea

I have developed gum lesions from Hydrea. They aren't white places, but bright red. My haematologist didn't have anything to offer me on what to do about it. It is also making my gums recede. My dentist didn't have any answers for what to do about it either. Anyone have experience with this, and what

FT3 FT4 Test 4 hours after taking Tirosint?

Hi, So I always have my thyroid labs taken in the morning on an empty stomach before taking my morning Tirosint dose. I currently take 75 mcg. My recent labs show TSH at .069 (.4 - 4.5) range and FT4 1.37 (.8-1.8) range and FT3 2.58 (2.2-4) range. I know my TSH is low but I don’t feel euthyroid. I have

New paper that consolidates the notion of FT3 protection as the chief aim of the body's thyroid system

This paper is mathematical again. It tries to tie in the body's need to protect its FT3 level against disturbing pressures. The discussion and conclusion are most approachable. In short FT3 measurement is strongly recommended because of it being less sensitive to FT4 changes The role of supporting

recent labs and tirosint issues

I have attached my bloods (managed to get t3 tested as well. I was on 125mcg of tirosint (levo) and 5mcg of compounded t3. I found out last week that you can not get tirosint anywhere in England until July as there are issues with manufacture in the USA. I was just about to run out of meds, as I

St Johns Wort

I am taking 75 levothyroxine, struggling with my newly retired husband at home (I work from home) .. for this 'adjustment' period I got some St Johns Wort which I used wonderfully whilst my children were small (mummy's holiday tablets!). On reading the contraindications, which are long, I see that thyroid

Plant Sterols.

Is it safe to take plant sterols with levothyroxine? I've been told my cholesterol is high, it's 6.1 and my GP wants me to take Statins. I am not happy about this as I feel sure they will upset my IBS so I wondered if plant sterols were compatible with levothyroxine.

Is it the hypothyroidism or the medication causing my growing breasts? I feel so uncomfortable.

Think I did too much

I had successfully managed to come down from 6 to 5.5, then on Wednesday I helped set up and clear away a children’s party, and attended a dinner at night. I’ve been in a lot of pain yesterday and today, mainly lower back and hips, problem is, I have spinal stenosis and three herniated disc’s, so I’

Myo-inositol supplementation - if anyone tried for Hashimoto?

Just read the info that Myo-inositol regulates the levels of TSH and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), as well as insulin. It also reduces cholesterol. In the case of thyroid hormones, myo-inositol helps thyroid-hormone-producing cells become more efficient at building T4. Myo-inositol balances thyroid

Medication help

I'm stage 4 terminal without possibility of a Tx, have a TIPSS, and have an active DNACPR. I was referred to St Marys who said it was an inappropriate referral, and I'm supposed to have a fitted syringe driver with morphine, midazolam, levomepromazine, and hyoscine (busco). For some reason the meds are

Cannot be bothered syndrome!

Hi, Having reduced my pred dose from 20mg, i have been on 7mg for 3 weeks. I had some initial tiredness and sugar craving. That seemed to improve but have been having some low mood and cannot be bothered syndrome and get around to it tomorrow. Is this a common symptom and does it pass? Thanks I

Sleep and 5-HTP

I have no trouble going to sleep of a night, but wake up in the night for hours. My mind is so over active, I try counting from 100 down, but get easily distracted, so start again). I saw on another forum this product, 50mg 5HTP. ""5-HTP dietary supplements help raise serotonin levels in the brain

Anti-arithmetic meds with Paxil (Paroxetine) - an anxiety med.

Was just wondering if anyone is on or has tried Flecainide or Propafenone while also taking Paxil (Paroxetine)? If so, how did it work out? Side effects or health issues or none at all? Thank you for anyone who cares to reply!

Endocrinologist Keeps Lowering my Tirosint Dose

Hi Everyone, Since my partial thyroidectomy in December, I moved from an integrative practitioner to a new endocrinologist (who can better monitor my thyroid nodules) but who has also been adjusting my medication solely on TSH numbers. I went from a compounded T4/T3 (80mcg T4/12 mcg T3) prescription

Teva Levothyroxine

Any members having issues with sourcing Teva Levothyroxine and being sent Accord instead. I have returned them to chemist and on a hunt at that moment to try and source from various chemists. Apparently there is a production delay.....I have only ever taken Teva Brand since I was diagnosed in June 2021
