Immune system
Had my monthly review with GP last week and was told my white blood cell count was low, she said this can happen with long term steroid use. Am now on 7.5mg from 40mg. I asked what, if anything, I could do, and was told to keep eating a healthy diet, keep hydrated and keep on with my walking. I wondered

Selected highlights from draft GMC consent guidance Part 5
The GMC have really taken the judgement of the Supreme Court to heart. They make it clear that patients with the capacity to make decisions make their own decisions about their health. Sodium oxybate, thyroid hormone and sleep
Sodium oxybate (which is the sodium salt of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid) is used as a last resort medicine for sleep problems - under expert guidance only. I have just come across a personal report about the interaction between sodium oxybate and levothyroxine. If anyone is interested, I'll post more

New test results
Any comments would be very much appreciated! Had my thyroxine increased from 100 to 125 and have been taking the 125 for 3 months. I go back to the endo next week. I feel much better than I did but I still don’t feel 100%. They would only test TSH and FT4 this time. TSH 0.01 (0.2-4.5) this was 4.2

Problems with hydrea?
The last dose of medication my pharmacist gave me was an American produced hydrea, not the the British produced hydroxicarbamide I’ve been taking since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. For the last three months I’ve felt very unwell, and my blood test results have been erratic. I got my new dose of meds

Epilim to Keppra
My wife has terrible shaking with Epilim and through our GP we are trying to ditch the Ep and move on to Keppra. Does one come off the ep entirely? We are on 150mg Lamotrigine, 400mg Epilim and 1000mg Keppra. Would the 400mg Epilim still cause shaking/tremors?
