Injury & motivation
Hi just signed on. I’ve had an injury to my achilles for about a year. I’ve been to see the physio and he did relieve the pain and it has got better. When I run now I’m extremely wary just in case I hurt myself again. Can anyone suggest how I can improve?

Sleeping on back for at least 8 weeks
Hi, in week 7 post cabg and rehab physio told me to sleep on back until end week 8 to all sternum to heal properly… so definitely sleep on back for a few more weeks. Yes I prefer my side but doing what is needed for recovery.

Buprenorphine/ Subutex,, Temgesic,CBD, THC , Traumeel injections
I can’t not emphasis this enough Anyone starting Buprenorphine / Subutex Or the micro dose version Temgesic. You will not get this advice from your doctors but I urge you to start in this manor. Buy a pill cutter and nightly cut you sublingual tablet into about 8 /10 tiny little crumbs. These medications

Beconase , changing tinnitus
I have a dental splint,
physiotherapy
, chiropractor, acupuncture. I recently noticed I was getting hay fever , itchy eyes and nose. I started using a nasal spray called beconase, it helps the hayfever but its doing weird things to my tinnitus. It's really quiet then loud and changing pitch.

Is this normal?
Hi all, So I posted a while back after I got diagnosed with osteoporosis and had a vertebral fracture. Turns out I actually had 4 vertebral fractures, not 1 like they initially thought! I’m about 8 weeks out from the fractures (and so 8 weeks in to taking alendronic acid) so they should be just about

A thought on calf pain
I wanted to tentatively put forward an idea, and I would be grateful if anyone in sports science or
physiotherapy
on this website would weigh in. Is it possible that for people whose biggest problem is calf pain, the advice to keep slowing down is actually making the calf pain a bit worse?

MY journey
SinceI was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 73 , I consider myself extremely lucky . I was in good physical shape at the time and although I was nervous about the chemotherapy, I managed it well . Early on I decided to only share my diagnosis with family members and really close friends .

NICE Guidance on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome delayed
Most of us here will know the life-draining fatigue that often accompanies systemic autoimmune conditions. Many will have co-diagnoses of CFS or ME. For a long time, people with ME/CFS have argued that these are "real", medical conditions, rather than the effects of psychological dysfunction or deconditioning

new NICE guidelines for CFS /ME shelved.. handbags at dawn , and resignations. Seems they really don't want to let G.E.T go.
article is somewhere in todays Guardian i think . ( edit yesterdays guardian) The new guidelines were going to say "get rid of Graded Exercise Therapy , and CBT can be used to help , but is not a 'treatment' But.... a not so 'nice' man on radio 4 this a.m . says they really don't want to loose C.B.T

Update on my leg/hip pain & walking difficulties
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post last week. Just to let you know that I went to my lovely Physiotherapist yesterday and she says it is nerve pain from the Piriformis muscle. PMRPro was right as always. Im still having difficulty walking but have exercises to do and after speaking to Rheumatologist

What I have learned from 1 year with Early Onset PD - "Glass Half Full"
I decided to keep a journal of my journey - it has been quite a year but I have learned a lot. some of which maybe relevant for new and older PD people. I am not a doctor and this is not a medical opinion but there is lots available to make a stand against PD https://fightparkinsonsdisease.files.wordpress.com

Moved house, new shoes, this heat is killing me & I'm scared to join parkrun :0
Okay yes its looong So it has been a busy, busy couple of weeks for me both personally and running wise. First of I moved house - same city, but different neighbourhood. Luckily this is just by my favourite running spot in a big park / forest! Running wise - injury wise, my physio told me I needed

What would you do?
About 2 years ago I was referred to a respiratory consultant whom it was thought had more experience than the specialist I was seeing at that time. All started off well as I was sent for blood tests, MRI scan, sputum samples, lung function test and an appointment was made for me to see a respiratory

Piriformis 😩
I've avoided writing this post for a few weeks because I just want to get better and get out there, but I'm starting to lose any sense perspective. I came home from a week away keen to start training for the Bristol half marathon. In an effort to improve my time, I started a Garmin strength programme

Returning after injury- advice please
I completed couch to 5k in January and continued to run regularly. By June I was doing jujus magic plan and reached 7k. However I overstretched a hip muscle( flexor I think) and had to see a physio for treatment. She advised me to stop running in the meantime. Been given all clear to return but don’
