Help please. i have Hypo and went for biopsy on 4th May after GA i realised i was almost paralysed. Diagnosed spinal cord stroke. This is the rare one when there is a tight band around the trunk. I am totally numb on rt side and burning on the left. Hospital put me in neuro ward with hardly any physio. after almost 3.5 months i was discharged to a care home without any rehab. the reason for this is because we asked Qs. this kind of stroke happens when Anterior spinal cord artery is injured which could happen during VATS.
Has any one had this kind of stroke and how did you overcome this tight belt around torso which is so tight? As well as now having Hodgkin's lymphoma which i have Chemo for. My tsh is 8 and they are refusing to put up my T3.

A TSH of 8 is high and they should be treating you, so that it reduces to 1 or lower. I think many professionals think there's not much of a problem with a TSH in single figures, i.e. 8.
Thank you Shaws They have been yo yoing my medication. It doesn't matter how many times you tell them. Not only that each time it's some one different.
So I had similar experience regarding the tightness but different diagnosis. If this is any help at all.
I still periodically get tightness around ribs when muscles spasm (thyroid I think to blame still trying to get this sorted ) with numbness like feeling afterwards, which many say is like a MS hug (not sure about that as not diagnosed with MS) but I had MRI and found my thoracic disc bulged hitting spinal cord.
I had exactly the left leg numbness/burning sensation down my leg and dragging my right and couldn’t walk, took few weeks to get right regarding walking and well over 2yrs to rid the burning sensation which now I think was deficiency in B12... this paraplegic effect was from waist down along with bowel problems also which we found my thyroid & Coeliac disease conditions ... I still have musculoskeletal problems 8 or so years on... I had many nutritional deficiencies initially, which are now rectified along with well controlled coeliac disease.
I do know coeliac disease for some can cause ataxia as I was asymptomatic for digestive problems seems I got the ataxia bit they think.
Thank you CoeliacMum1 for sharing your symptoms with me it helps a lot. I am having a private assessment from spinal cord specialists hoping for some answers. As hospital Dr's all closed rank when we complained. i also have found the Brain and Spine foundation excellent for info and support. I wish you a pain free future.
