SO MUCH BETTER!!
Hi everyone, Over the last 2 months I have cut out all biscuits, cookies and crisps and the desired result is that I have lost 4 kgs or roughly 8 lbs of weight! I am also more careful about wine (I have the odd glass), caffeine and chocolate and the result is I am more tired in the evening and sleep

Newly diagnosed.. anemia goes full circle.
I went for genetics testing and things went full circle... on examination and full Hx and Px, Hx having severe RLS and lifetime of fatigue and anemia, and Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Iron Deficiency Anemia was suspected and labs were drawn. I just finished my 5th Iron Infusion but had a colonoscopy scheduled

Too much iron after supplements
In January I made my iron tests. They looked a little low in range. In April I started to take iron supplements. After 4 weeks I stopped them for a week and then retested (in a different lab). January Serum iron level: 16 ( 9 - 30 umol/L) Serum transferrin: 28 ( 25 - 45 umol/L) Transferrin saturation

Is B12 196 normal?
Hi everyone, I'm just after a bit of advice please. About 6 weeks ago I went to my GP because I had tingling in my toes on my left foot, was tired all the time, getting headaches, feeling unsteady on my feet, being a bit more clumsy than usual, feeling groggy. My GP did some blood tests and it came back

Iron tablets
Right ok. I’ve been put on iron tablets and I’m 10 days in. I’m taking them with vitamin c. I’ve also stopped taking lansoprazole and introduced cider vinegar tablets. My question is what can I now take to help me go to the toilet as I haven’t been able to go regularly since starting iron and coming

Newly diagnosed NAFLD
Hello, I’m newly diagnosed with NAFLD and am a little concerned that I may have caused this myself through taking co-codamol on a regular basis for quite a few years through having a slipped disc. All my tests point to this being very mild.Evidently my fibroscan and NAFLD fibrosis score were very reassuring

Vitamin levels
FERRITIN 32 (15 - 150) Haematology want this over 50, current GP ignoring haematology's recommendation for this. Given iron infusion in 2016 but it only raised ferritin and did not raise iron, transferrin, haemoglobin or MCV very much. I am on 1 iron tablet a day and this has been since February 2017

Iron supplements question
I have been getting short of breath lately, and have really noticed it as i have started running- I must be the only person in the world who is getting slower and fatter rather than fitter and faster ...:( Anyway, my recent full blood tests show that : Serum ferritin level : 22 ug/L [10.0 - 300.0]

Tramadol
Hi ladies. So 30mg co-codamol isn’t helping my pains so now been prescribed tramadol. Bit wary of this pain killer. How have you got one with it? I work full time and I don’t know how it effects you during work.

Merrick dog treats recalled due to elevated thyroid hormone
Probably not relevant to many readers - or their best friends - as this is USA news. However, I thought of broad interest to realise that this issue keeps occurring, whether in dog food, Spanish sausage, or hamburgers. [i]
