I would like to build a website to help people on dialysis. But since there are so many factors to consider, I'm hoping to get insights
What kind of website do you think will be most beneficial in helping people on dialysis? a social website that people can connect and share their experience online? maybe share information to better educate patients? Perhaps a website that allows people to share their feelings? pain, frustration? Please

I'm new. My mom is in the ICU. She's 49 her birthday is next month. We're all staying strong for her.
On Saturday January 07th, 2023 mom went to the ER. She went to her dialysis that day. After she was done my sister's took her to the ER. The doctor told my dad and sister's that moms eyes is yellow. Doctor was hoping that it wasn't due to liver problems which turned out to be just that. They sedated

Queen's tell all
Had to write today since Prince Harry's book came out to scandalous reviews. My tell all would be title "Where's the scandal" because my life is so very boring at the moment. We have no heat, I'm wanting something fancy to eat. There is vodka sauce pasta from the Italian place down the street. Which,

Weight gain?
I received a transplant 1 month ago. I was never on dialysis, close but I never had to undergo that phase, thankfully. I lost approximately 20 lbs. post transplant, mostly water weight according to doctors. I’m undergoing labs every 3-4 days and my numbers are good. BP is good. My only concern is I’m

Newly diagnosed with CKD and preoccupied with what this means for the future
So, I’m a 59 year old man with only high cholesterol and hypertension (both being treated with medication). My creatinine has been creeping up s-l-o-w-l-y over the past several years, with my internist musing, “let’s keep any eye on this." Recently, had new blood work, with creatinine up to 1.6 and

End stage renal disease body odor
Just met the nicest guy who is on dialysis. He has a distinctive smell that is I am sure related to toxins from the inability of his body to expel them between dialysis treatments. I want to help him with this. I don't want to offend him but don't know how to discuss it or if there is any remedy for

Reading a book
I have been on Dialysis about two years, I pass my time reading on the iPad or Audible books. I still prefer a real book, but as my fistula is in my left arm above the wrist., I find reading hard back books or any book for that matter quite hard. Anyone found an easy method?

Hello Everyone. I have been on dialysis for 4.5 years. The first 4 years I did home hemo dialysis due to the remoteness of where Iived. 6 months ago I moved to a city where I was able to switch to in-center dialysis. Up until a month ago, everything was fine. About a month ago, I started getting horrendous

Fed Up with everything.
I have been on haemodialysis since May. Having completed all the tests etc at the beginning of November, I was just waiting to go live in the transplant list. My previous consultant, who is now on maternity leave, said my results were good and she even said, I would probably receive a new kidney before

Spoke to nephrologist.
Hello - I finally managed to speak to my nephrologist this morning. I asked about transplant and he said it was possible. In this country they wait until you are gfr 6 or 7 before they put you on dialysis and mine is 21 at the moment so I wouldn't be considered for the transplant list just yet. I

Holiday post blues
I have been feeling quite down for the past few days. I feel like I was so busy with Holiday plans , cooking and gifting that now that it is over, I just feel horribly depressed. On top of that I was up sick all night. With the New Year coming I can’t help but think how I want my old life back. The

Had this in writing on an email via a friend, who has asked advice (without my asking him to) from the head pharmacist at one of the major London hospitals (a chum of his), who works for the current consultant in matters thyroid related and clearly thinks she knows about thyroid, and all thyroid patients

Snow Queen... ha ha ha...
Snow Queen was a hard one to come up with living on the east coast. The weather has been beautiful, but I'm not looking forward to the frigid weather. My semester is done. I received an A in my class which is great, butI wish I had learned more. All my fault. I did the assignments but I didn't let it

Hello I have been reading some old posts about this medication and ckd. Is it really dangerous to take. My gfr is 21 and I need to keep it stable. I suffer with insomnia and it helps me sleep at 100mg per dose. I also take quietepine 50mg and diazepam 8mg per dose Added into that mix is mirtazepine
