Hello Everyone. I have been on dialysis for 4.5 years. The first 4 years I did home hemo dialysis due to the remoteness of where Iived. 6 months ago I moved to a city where I was able to switch to in-center dialysis. Up until a month ago, everything was fine. About a month ago, I started getting horrendous headachrs during dialysis. It comes on slow but it is so bad that I am unable to finish dialysis. I have worked with my clinic staff and we have tried several things: differen5 dialyzer, sodium modeling, raising my dry weight. Nothing has helped. I was hoping that someone on here could maybe point out something that worked for them if they had this same problem. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

Slow down the blood pump *and* limit the fluid removed to just the rinse back. Less than .5 for removal. Blood flow rate of no higher 350. The dialysis hangover is likely due to too much fluid removed too fast and in too short a timespan. If this isn't helpful try pre-rinsing system with extra bag or two of saline prior to machine hookup. Hope this helps. Blessings
I agree with KidneyCoach. Too much being taken off too quickly. I am on Haemodialysis and was getting really bad headaches. Its the sort of headaches I used to get if, I was dehydrated. Hope it sorts itself out. You have my sympathies. They are awful and one more thing, you can do without.
