In April 2024, I was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease and now rely on peritoneal dialysis (PD) 7 days a week. Dialysis is exhausting and restricts my daily activities . I hold a Masters degree from Purdue and work as a Data engineer in Silicon Valley.

The doctors want to start the process for home peritoneal dialysis overnight. We are feeling quite anxious as a family and I would appreciate your support. Can anyone offer their experiences on starting PD, physically and mentally how they feel on dialysis?

I am not able to do peritoneal dialysis. After the surgery, it will still be a couple of months before they can even use that spot for dialysis, and it sounds like I'll need it sooner. I'm stressed. I can't find a donor. I can't do PD.

The time has come when I need to make a decision about whether to go with hemo or peritoneal dialysis. That brings up many questions. If on peritoneal dialysis do you ever get a decent nights sleep or are you constantly awakened with alarms pain etc.

I've been on peritoneal dialysis for many years and this will be my 3rd transplant. Both ones previoulsy failed one due to infection and that's what I'm concerned about.

Do we have to bandage out sites for the duration of having it? I did not like the belt so I use the lanyards for my catheter; they are more comfortable.
