Dear Support Group Diary,
I need to vent today. All of our stories are very unique to each person, however they nearly all end up on the same path - - dialysis, transplant, ect. So for the sake of my keyboard, lol I'm going to skip the beginning details of this story and flash to the part where I've worked my ass off to

Good morning, I’m very new to this site but I have been diagnosed with ckd stage 3b. I discovered it myself when I got a copy of my blood work. I also went to a neph where I saw a lnp who is taking the approach of watch and wait. She did 1 urinalysis which showed no protein in urine. I also have a 103

NEW GFR POST TRANSPLANT
I was wondering how quickly after transplant the GFR starts showing some normalcy. From my blood test I had yesterday, thursday, I received the results and I was shocked to learn that the day of the surgery, my GFR was down to 8. So after the transplant on January 25th, my GFR is now 57! I am just

Integrating a holistic approach to kidneys
The first episode of this new series is chats with a good friend, who I met through our shared experience at the time of being on

dialysis
. Her honest sharings of accepting the gift of a kidney from her brother - not easy! And the various bumps that come along the way.

Hey! Wanna be friends?
Hey Everyone. I'm simply looking for others to chat with about all of this. I want to talk about diets, sleep (or lack there of), coping with the mental exhaustion...ya know, life. I'm fairly young to the dialysis world and sometimes it would be nice to just vent without others thinking its a malpractice

Family Member needing dialysis what to expect; how to help
Hi everyone, I've been very busy the past couple of weeks someone I know in my family will have to do dialysis I think about 2 times a week. I would rather that and still have him here with us after having a severe case of covid last month. Anyway I was wondering if he would be able to come off of dialysis

Successful diet to manage CKD
By changing to a mostly vegan/vegetarian diet I may have stopped CKD progression. Having read several books on CKD, I was most motivated by one called "Stopping Kidney Disease" by Lee Hull. I have no affiliation with this author. His research led to a suggested low protein vegetarian/vegan diet before

Emergency dialysis
I might have to do emergency dialysis if I don’t get better tomorrow. I’m wondering what they are going to do and what it’s going to be like, how it feels. Anything I need to know. I’m prettty nervous

Your body is incredible. How connected to that are you?
Our bodies are incredible. They're always replenishing through a complex interplay of cell death & new cells. For me, having had a total of 10.5 years on dialysis, 7 of those as a teenager & two kidney transplants, there are so many ways to integrate, heal & remember our inner strength. Yoga is one

Hospitalised for 15 weeks
I live in Brasil. After coughing up blood, and a Covid test at the leading hospital in RdJ for Covid, I was admitted on 1 Sept. I have been on Pred. for 10 years with GCA. My dose of Pred. was 5.5mgpd plus 50mg Azatioprina. Following my 2 Sinovac injections in Feb. and May last year I had a IMG/IMC test

New, targeted therapy inhibits specific immune cells associated with lupus nephritis
'Intervention targets T cells rather than multiple immune cell types," Prof. Chaim Putterman says. Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus), an autoimmune disease in which the body recognizes and attacks its own tissues, can affect many organs, including the kidneys. About fifty percent of patients diagnosed
