Head pain 10 yrs after VM
I was diagnosed with viral meningoencephalitis (meningitis and encephalitis) in April of 2008...hospitalized for 2 wks, home for about a week and a half, then back in for 10 days. I have not been without head pain since April 14/2008. Some days are better than others, some days are pure hell, with vomiting

Lyme disease from UK spider bite?
Hi, a few years ago I got bit on the leg by what I think was a false white spider. I did not see the spider but the wound looks like others who had this bite. I remember the next few days feeling unwell and flu like. Dr gave 2 weeks of antibotics and it took 3 months to heal and I had to get the necrotic

Some questions from a Newbie in Limbo
Diagnosed 2 weeks ago, waiting in Chromosome analysis for my sub type, just had a few questions for fellow sufferers. 1. Ive just had night sweats for the first time? I had a pretty nasty cold so maybe its to be expected. Should I call my haemotologist? He gave me the impression we needed to wait til

Immunizations galore
My haemo has me set up to get a shingles shot and two pneumonia shots, because of my immune system being potentially lower due to the hydroxyurea. Public health nurse says I should also get a meningitis vaccination and an updated tetanus shot. All this before I even get my annual flu shot in the fall

Transcutaneous electrical stimulation unit
Has anybody had a chance to use a TENS unit? Transcutaneous electrical stimulation does something to the muscles which is supposed to help with pain of all kinds. I've got one on right now and it definitely does something to the restless, horrible, creepy feeling but I'm not sure if I'll be able to

Recovery from bacterial Meningitis.
Recovery from Baterial Meningitis. My husband is recovering from BM. It is very stressful not to understand what the after effects are. He has only been out of the hospital for 2 months. He had surgery to remove a pain pump that had gotten infected. The drs thought they removed it before the infection

Tens Machines?!?
Hi all, I’m at the end of my tether with pain relief. Nothing seems to work very well. Currently on Naproxen and Co-codamol at night but they simply take the edge off the pain. I can’t take anything stronger cause I have to function, work and have 2 kids!! Has anyone used a tens machine for pain relief

Pelvic nerve block?!
Hi ladies- so I basically want to know if anyone has experienced having a pelvic nerve block. I was referred to the pain clinic and they suggested a pelvic nerve block. Now, I’ve been a little worried about it due to the needle aspect and the fact that last year I had a few lumbers punctures that went

A letter of introduction to my little friend.
Hi, my name is MS and I'm an invisible chronic illness. I am now velcroed to you for life. Others around you can't see me or hear me, but YOUR body feels me. I can attack you anywhere and anyhow I please. I can cause severe pain, or, if I'm in a good mood, I can just cause you to ache all over. Remember

Tens machine
Hi Like many (I suppose most of you) I am experiencing awful pain in my feet, knees, one shoulder and my hands. After 3 years I have just been told I have been granted the funding for benepali injections. I just wondered if anyone has tried using a tens machine to ease the pain? Wishing you all some

TENS for Overactive Bladder
Hi, My 5 year old daughter has been struggling with daytime wetness for sometime now. It seems we have tried everything to improve her symptoms - timed voiding, increased fluids, reward charts!! Etc etc. She can wet up to 4 times a day and sometimes has no idea that she has wet. We have seen a consultant

REPEAT NERVE BLOCK
Hi..just wanted to know how long after follow up with Consultant last week - who wasn't keen on giving me another one ...didn't think it was that BENEFICIAL as only lasted 4 months of less pain /increased mobility. Had to be really assertive as i know i did get some benefit even though it was short term
