Frequent/recurring UTIs and advice
Hi, my wife seems to have periodic UTIs, one that didn't clear after initial treatment that required extending taking the medication, per my previous post https://healthunlocked.com/womenshealth/posts/149157608/persistent-leukocytes-in-urine-without-real-uti-infection-or-problems-normal-or-not. She

Rerun - Medscape and DTE (NDT)
Two years ago I posted an article from Medscape regarding the action of NDT (DTE) and its pharmacokinetics. People since asked me to forward it on here, but until now I'd lost the site. I've now retreived it forTUK archives: If you put into Google the following, the site comes up medscape/desiccated

awful cough before transfer- can I take anything?
Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing ok on their journey. I have my transfer on Monday morning and have the worst cough I’ve ever had, it’s so chesty and painful. I just wondered if I could take some cough medicine or anything in advance of transfer or if it will affect my lining or chances? I

FLU VACCINE
I am in the UK on Venetoclax and have just spent 5 days in hospital with COVID. Is it safe to have the flu vaccine and is it hit or miss whether the vaccine is actually for the strain of flu which is going to be around this winter

Costochondritis
I had a bad cough with a chest infection (in my opinion). The third time this year. On previous 2 occasions, I was given 30mg pred per day for 5 days and an antibiotic, and chest cleared each time. I have been in contact with covid, but have not had +ve test. This time I was not given, I was refused

?asthma
a few years ago after a bout of bronchitis which I often got in the winter I was given asthma pumps, I’ve never been sure if I had asthma. Following wheezing when I lay down or even in the day my doctor listened to my chest and sent me for a chest X-ray, this showed a shadow on my lung and I was sent

Hypothyroidism, chronic cystitis and histamine intolerance
Can anyone recommend good sources of information on the connection between hypothyroidism, recurrent cystitis and histamine/oxalate intolerance or possibly MCAS? I have had recurrent cystitis for many years, but in the past 2 years, it has become unbearable and I can be on antibiotics for weeks on end

Hi all I was recently diagnosed with pneumonia and pleurisy and am on my fourth course of antibiotics They don’t seem to be working My question is regarding the pleurisy - can the pain move around the chest? Today the upper front of my chest is very sore whereas a few days ago it was the lower

Flu jab
As flu vaccine season will soon be on us I was wondering if my husband will get a flu jab this year (I have asthma, therefore I qualify). In previous years he has been eligible but I believe the criteria has changed. Any thoughts?

Advice on increasing Pred for breathlessness and persistent cough
My GP told me that breathlessness is a symptom of PMR, so I can't seek her advice on how to manage this cough etc. Some people are saying that Eris Covid is around and it presents as a bad cough which does not show up as positive on home covid testing kits. I have had a persistent productive cough

Options for Recurrent PCa w/ RT Initial Therapy
Looking for options with intent to cure if recurrence is limited to prostate only, pending PET-PSMA. Have read about these options: Prostatectomy/Brachytherapy/Cystoprostatectomy/Cryotherapy Anybody have any knowledge or studies that might suggest a direction? Still hoping for the possibility

Prolapse surgery
I have suffered with uterine prolapse for approximately 4 years and have had a Gellhorn pessary for almost 3 years. Prolapse is now at stage 3 with more and more problems with the pessary, discomfort, burning bladder and infections. It came out so now have a larger pessary. This is even more uncomfortable
