Hello Can I ask I anyone on filgotinib, if you get cold (which feels like it's a head cold all stuffed up) and sore throat, do you stop filgotinib till its better or keep taking it? I know I have to stop if needing antibiotics but wasn't sure for a cold.
Your experiences would be very welcome
Thank you

I am not on Filgotinib but on my second JAK Inhibitor and I had similar issues with my 1st, Baricitinb. Respiratory issues seem to be more common on JAKs, I think but it is important to report this to your RA team. Also, if it becomes a major issue to you, do not be afraid to ask for a change of meds. Your quality oflife is also important.
I’m on Filgotinib and although I caught a cold in April I didn’t stop it just for that. However, and unfortunately, it went onto my chest and I needed antib’s so had to stop it for the time it took for the resulting bronchitis to clear up. If you get worse definitely get in touch with GP as you are immune suppressed so may not realise that you need some intervention.
Hope it clears up by itself and you get better soon.
Hi. Haven’t had a chest infection for over a year and yes, Filgotinib does help my RA but it’s not quite as effective as was Baricitinib, (which stopped working after I got Covid) and was definitely the best drug I’ve ever been on. I am only on 100mgs daily of Filgotinib though due to age and falling lymphocytes so 200 mgs may be more effective.
