I started to have cold symptoms a week ago and took a test which was negative. Felt like the worse cold ever - terrible muscle aches, cough and congestion.
After a couple of days I realised I couldn’t smell anything . My daughter who is a nurse said it sounds like Covid so I tested again and this time it was positive. It was a bit late to get the anti virals and to be honest I didn’t have the strength to chase them up.
I’m recovering now , have isolated myself and resting up. I’ve had 6 Covid vaccinations and was due to have another yesterday.
It’s my first time having Covid and after the shielding etc I had been very afraid of catching it. Although it’s been grim I feel reassured that I have coped as it’s only 14 weeks since I had a total hysterectomy for uterine cancer.

I had two negative LFTs before sending for a PCR test which was positive. Like you, no antivirals and the virus took its longer course! Also like you I felt reassured that I had coped!
Just had the autumn Covid 19 vaccination and am ticking off the ‘very common side effects’! I feel very grateful to have been offered this new vaccination so quickly!
Well done . I had it within weeks of Covid injection so another variant . Same as you tested negative 4 days before positive . They refused anti viruls. Have felt well since having it but felt like a dozen horses had kicked me at time & rotted in bed most of the week just on water & fruit 👍
