Osteoporosis and HRT
I was diagnosed 3 years ago with
osteopenia
which has now progressed to osteoporosis, though frankly my recent DEXA report is so unclear that I'm waiting for word from my doctor to interpret it. My question is about hormone replacement and osteoporosis. I've been listening to podcasts with Dr.

Does anyone take NDT at night?
Thanks I know taking calcium is not ideal but I don’t have a choice as I have
osteopenia
and without a supplement my calcium levels drop too much.

Clenil - what is a high dose?
My breathing is mostly fine but following a fall I broke my wrist and have recently been diagnosed with
osteopenia
, I also bruise very easily. Some info suggests there’s a link with high doses but I’m don’t know if 800mg per day is high, my GP says I should stay on the 200 but I’m worried now.

Apparently my dexa scans had been showing
osteopenia
then osteoporosis since 2014! When I informed him that no one had told me or mentioned treatment he left extremely angry, leaving me in tears and having no idea how this was happening to me.

I’ve read too high vitamin D can cause brittle bones and I’ve got
osteopenia
and vitamin D has stopped my chest pains. I take magnesium and that’s reaching top of normal and I take omega 3.

Please may I get your thoughts on 2nd round of thyroid tests?
I started taking HRT in April 2023 as on top of everything else I was getting some perimenopausal symptoms and also because
osteopenia
was diagnosed – am still trying to get the dose right. Long standing use of antidepressants and poor mental health episodes. Fibromyalgia diagnosis 2016.

How to nurture bone health
Over time, this can lead to
osteopenia
and eventually osteoporosis. *Increase calcium rich foods - dark leafy greens, tahini/sesame seeds, natural yoghurts, sardines, eggs. Squeezing lemon juice onto kale, collard greens and broccoli for example, helps increase vitamin C uptake. *Vitamin D.

Just a little rant
A couple of years after that, I was diagnosed with
osteopenia
and the rest is history. So, 3 months ago I started a gym and lifting again. So far so good. I will never go on any medications. I cannot even take an aspirin, it really messes with my system.

New to running
I recently had a dxer scan which showed up
osteopenia
, quite common in a lady of 66 but wanted to know how I could halt the progression and, to my surprise, the doctor’s face lit up when I mentioned taking up running, and highly recommended it! So here I am just beginning W4C25K.

osteopenia worse, im on enoxaparin/ lovenox any thoughts on vitk2?
I had repeat dexascan says my hips are getting worse, anyone on enoxaparin/lovenox taking vit k2 for “calcium to bone absorption”? Docs are talking about fosamex, etc, but I would rather do vitamins if possible. Not looking for medical advice but would like to know if others with APS are taking it

steroid reduction
been so difficult for me as the diagnosis is only 50/50 but went on steroids to be safe, I really didn’t want to as I saw how they affected my mum in so many ways, I’m am trying to be as healthy as I can, but now realise that weaning off of the steroids is the biggest part, I already have glaucoma and

Esomprazole, stomach issues and calcium deficiency
I resisted the AA until a DEXA scan identified osteoporosis and
osteopenia
. I switched to Risedronate because I could not tolerate the AA. I struggled a bit with the Risedronate until last November when I had stomach problems - bloating, wind, pain.

Hashimotos/low tsh but low t4 and t3 help
I also have
osteopenia
( I am 57 yr old female) so my doctor is concerned about adding more T3 so instead he bumped up my T4 (synthroid) to 100 mcg.

Calcium supplements - are they essential for PMR
I had a private Dexa scan in March 2022 which showed I had
osteopenia
but my T scores were ok. I’m about to book a repeat Dexa scan for the end of March. It’s so hard to know who to believe. I don’t want to jeopardize my bone health by stopping the calcium. Has anyone else had this issue?

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis (in my spine) and
osteopenia
(in my hips) despite being very active and having worked out with weights for years. I'm 63 (I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago).

Fear of too many vitamins.
My story is , I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago but only one digit into it on my right hip 2.6 the rest
osteopenia
. I decided after much research not to take prescribed medication owing to the terrible possible long term effects. So started to take vitamins.
