Dreading dental treatment
Has anyone with Fnd and seizures had dental treatment and got through it OK. I woke up this morning with rotten migraine, every tooth aching, sore cheek bones, tender forehead and could hardly keep my eyes open. Think I might have been clenching my teeth in my sleep as I'm feeling stressed about upcoming

Dental treatment and local anaesthetic
Hi guys--I'm going to have a root canal filling next week. I've read that people with PAF should have a local anaesthetic which doesn't contain any type of adrenalin as this can bring on A Fib. Anyone have experience with this?? My GP couldn't give me an answer and told me just to discuss it with

Hot Flashes
Hello, I'm new to this forum and live in Toronto, Canada. I've had hot flashes for over 22 years since I had a complete hysterectomy due to fibroids and endometriosis. Actually, to be fair, the hot flashes started about one year after my surgery. I've tried hundreds of over the counter meds that claim

Constant Migraines
Since 2002 I have suffered from, and my very being suffers from 24 hour a day migraines. It took me 3 years to get pain management. I was to the point of just ending things. My Doctor recommended a pain specialist and I truly believe he saved my life. I am on a high Morphin regimen and have learned to

Pred sucks
Hope I get accustomed to these side effects of pred soon, 20mg, often times I think of quitting pred as fast as possible and going with ibuprofen... if I knew I didn't have gca or was not going to get it I'm pretty sure I would opt out of this drug..and people think opioids are bad??

Pregabalin - class C Drug
Just read an article in the Guardian talking about changing pregabalin to a class C drug and only allowing it on repeat prescriptions for one month at a time. There have been a number of deaths particularly when used with opioids, due to respiratory failure Apparently this is due to overprescription

Hello!
My name is Mandy, and I was diagnosed in 1987 at the age of 12. I also have fibromyalgia. I was never educated by my parents, or put in a treat to target plan. I am now 42 with a heap of inflammation related illnesses. I am currently on sulfasalazine and methotrexate. I see a pain clinic for my prescription

What is an "expanded access" protocol?
Most human use of investigational new drugs takes place in controlled clinical trials conducted to assess safety and efficacy of new drugs. Data from the trials can serve as the basis for the drug marketing application. Sometimes, patients do not qualify for these carefully-controlled trials because

With IPF (or the like) You get loads of thinking time. Some absolutely off the wall thoughts. I was watching TV and found myself thinking - If you watch ‘Lord of the Rings’ backwards. It’s just a story about a bloke who gets a ring from a volcano & walks home. Which is similar to watching your wedding

Ibandronic Acid
My doctor is very keen for me to take monthly Ibandronic Acid tablets of 150mg. My dentist, however is less keen as she said there can be some problems caused by the drug when having dental treatment. I think she referred to teeth that needed to be extracted. I've been on Pred. for 4 years and am currently

SCD treatments.
As far as I know there is no cure for SCD. The Haematologists in the UK, try to manage the painful episodes with strong opioids e.g. OxyContin, morphine, Tramadol etc. They also try to keep you well hydrated with bags of saline and also increase your haemoglobin numbers by blood transfusions. My GP

All the symptoms of hypothyroidism but told test normal.
I have felt unwell for months and months, in fact I cannot remember when I did feel ok. I have symptoms of tingling and numbness in my fingers. I feel boiling hot (running with sweat) or freezing cold (teeth chattering cold) when everyone else is fine, I'm wearing a cardigan when everyone else is

Imbruvica and painkillers
I am interested in knowing what painkillers other than Tylenol are permissible with Imbruvica. My husband has a lot of joint pain and the Tylenol just doesn't cut it. Isn't there something else that can be used to alleviate pain and not act as a blood thinner? He's not so interested in the opioids!

opioid constipation
A short time ago I posted a question about solutions to constipation due to opioids. I am on oxycontin 20 mg timed release. I thank you for all your suggestions. After trying many things, I found that taking a tablespoon of Metamucil (coarse) in 8 oz. of water every evening kept me very regular

Bisphosphonates BEWARE If entering into any treatment that includes a bisphosphonate such as Zometa - added as an IV during chemo treatment. Others are taken as tabs, ensure you have any required dental treatment first. It says so on the packet! My case? 10 cycles chemo. Great results with that plus

Have I got a bitch?
There is a pending lawsuit in Ohio, against Purdue, and Jannsen, the drug dealers who provide our country with the opioids that are killing our kids. Jannsen also makes Zytiga, which is what I am on. I will continue taking my Zytiga until I see my Onc on 5/8. That's it. If my insurance won't cover another
