I am interested in knowing what painkillers other than Tylenol are permissible with Imbruvica. My husband has a lot of joint pain and the Tylenol just doesn't cut it. Isn't there something else that can be used to alleviate pain and not act as a blood thinner? He's not so interested in the opioids!

Imbruvica and painkillers
Please ask your husband’s Dr. about each of the following possibilities
:
Each of these were suggested by CLLers when you asked about Imbruvica
and joint/bone pain 6 months ago.
You may not have been able to pick out the names, or you may have had
no time to get back to the site. I hope this helps.
Plaquenil (prescribed by rheumatologist)--took 2 or 3 weeks to kick in
but worked well.
Mobic
indocid suppositories (indomethacin
nambumetone
Medical marijuana
1/2 norco 2 times a day
controlled morphine was also mentioned
It is important that your hemotologist who has prescribed the Imbruvica know what you need.
Is it possible to call with the list of possibilities that have worked for others?
I hope this helps.
Because I have run too many marathons, best 2:43, I have worn out my left hip. I am on Tramadol 50 mg bid and it is helping a great deal. I have been taking it for about 6 months. I tried it after having an upper GI bleed and landing in the hospital needing 4 units of blood. That is what combining naproxen and Ibrutinib can do. Unless someone suggests it is contraindicated for CLL, it is a suggestion for you.
Dennis, 70, 17 p-, Ibrutinib
I have had dilaudid and hydrocodone on separate occasions for pain vs severe pain and these are prescribed by my oncologist who is brilliant, I might add. I love but cannot take tramadol because it raises my liver enzymes. This resolves shortly after stopping tramadol. I hope this helps.
