GCA, Predisolone and Dental Treatment
I am currently tapering 6mg predisolone and taking 17 1/2mg Methotrexate . All is well and no problems. I am due to have a dental crown fitted. The dentist says it’s OK as he won’t be exposing the gum area where infection is possible. So I’m checking with you wonderful people that I can still take

Dental treatment on 4mg
Hello all. I have to have a back molar extracted tomorrow and apparently there is a non-emerged wisdom tooth underneath. I don't know if the dentist plans to remove the wisdom tooth or not. I think the molar will come out fairy easily (touch wood). Do you think I need to increase pred today? I am just

What do I do now?
At last, I am off pramipexole, I was on 5 x 0.088 mg tabs a day. It took a long time but I have been pramipexole-free for two weeks. I am still on oxycodone 20mg twice a day. Do I stay on the Oxycodone or do I stop taking it, I was put on Oxycodone in January 2023 to help me come off pramipexole which

Discussion about treatment options in India
I have been to multiple neurologists in India for RLS before and they all prescribed pramipexole as first line treatment. Hearing all the advice here I have my reservations about taking it. I have also talked to a member here and a few others on Facebook who are in India and they are on ungodly amounts

Am planning to get off .625 nightly pramipexole. Have been increasing slowly over the last 7-10 years and need to stop.
First diagnosed in my 20s. First medication in my early 40s was Sinamet. Then another drug I think was ropinerole but not certain. I’ve been on Pramipexole for approximately 10 years. Slowly increasing dosage till now on .625 nightly. Thank goodness I found this blog and Sue Johnson and Jools and other

Prescribing of opiods
Having spent time working with Dr Jose Thomas in Cardiff, I obtained a referral letter to my gp surgery recommending low dose opioids. I had a very good consultation with my gp who appeared to understand the desperation I was experiencing and said that she was going to look at a range of options including

Covid. Do we still have to receive Antiviral medication?
I have just tested positive with Covid after Husband started with symptoms. I went onto NHS website to report it but it informs that this is no longer necessary. I wonder if we still have to request Antiviral treatment through 111 or GP. I have ET JAK2 Pos.

Timing of Gabapentin dose
I was seen yesterday at by Dr Tarpara at Vanderbilt’s QCC for RLS. Officially confirmed augmentation from ropinirole usage. The RLS controls my life 7 days a week. Symptoms start as early as 1-2 pm. Afternoons are something I just try to get through until bedtime. I take ropinirole 2 mg per day total

No RLs but depressed
For a long time I have been feeling very depressed during the day but not in the evenings when I take my Targin medication (10mg OxyContin and 5mg Naloxone). This level of Targin is effective in controlling my restless legs. Is it possible that my daytime depression is caused by mini daily withdrawals

When Your AF Meds Crash the Pain Relief Party
I am currently on a waitlist for a total knee replacement (TKR) and have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial flutter/atrial fibrillation (AF/AFL). Before the surgery, I plan to have an in-depth conversation with the anesthesiologist regarding the strong pain medications (opioids) typically prescribed

Sick of being sick
I have had IBS for over ten years now and I'm in the most painful flare-up I've ever ever had as I stopped taking opioid medications without me wanting to stop taking them as they are the only things that helped only for them to be replaced by Suboxone, which my GP put me on because she thinks I'm dependant

Safe to take Gabapentin with Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
Hello, I’m posting on behalf of my husband who has suffered off and on with PLMD for 20 years. He has been so against taking pharmaceuticals for it but it’s gotten to the point nothing else is helping I think he’s ready to try. His primary care Dr recommends Gabapentin and to start with 100mg a day at

Neurologist in South of England
Hi fellow RLS people. Can anyone suggest a private neurologist in UK preferably South of England who will prescribe opioids? My doctor didn’t want to prescribe codeine (although had done so in the past). In the past I have also tried DA, gabepentin, clonazepam, amitriptiline, and some sleeping tablets

How to safely start Fentanyl patch when already on opioids?
I’ve been on 2mg of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) for a couple of months now for hip and bone pain. The pain has gotten much worse, so my oncologist upped me to 4mg each time. (I’m still taking 2mg, I just take it every 3 hours now instead of every 6 hours). He also just prescribed me a 3 day release fentanyl

Seeking thoughts on lab results (and my condition in general)
Hello all. I'll try to keep my history with this as short as possible. I'm 56, male, and have had RLS for probably half my life. I kept it at bay with Ambien for a big chunk of that time (dumb, I know) until that became untenable. In the past three or four years I've tried Gabapentin (didn't really
