Is it really the case that they would prefer us to be on extra
opiates
, when actually some people just need that extra boost of pain relief for just a few minutes? I dont know if i have explained this well, but obviously the MST is for the main pain relief, the oramorph for breakthrough pain.

Turning to drink!
Unfortunately I am allergic to
opiates
, can't tolerate any, go into anaphylactic shock. There are a couple of other pain med that I can't tolerate, so now I take Arthotec, an ASA base with a buffer. I am 71, so I drink a bit!

Looking for reassurance!
I'm newly diagnosed, I'm 44. I've had significant pain and discomfort which appeared bladder related for at least 5 years. I had a laparoscopy about 8 yrs ago for fertility investigations which concluded unexplained infertility, then had IVF, luckily conceived first attempt (initially twins but one lost

Somewhat belated introduction!
On the one hand, we have
opiates
like codeine and Tramadol which put me into respiratory depression or arrest and could easily kill me even at normal doses.

RLS
I developed RLS five yrs ago starting in my legs and eventually travelled all over my body. Unlike some people I donot have any pain but just that awful indescribable felling of anxiety and the need to move uncontrollably to satisfy the wretched feeling. After going to a neurologist and being put on

Great Expectations
Well Here is the patient with PsA with A side serving of Gout and now a inspection next week to see if my hat is on straight ?? To be honest I am bloody sick of the whole medical problem I suffer from. The medications we need to take to control the PA are cancer medications with all the side affects

Low Dose Naltrexone
Working on neuro inflammatory research for Fibromyalgia at Stamford University Dr Jarred Younger trialled Low-Dose Naltrexone http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2891387/ .The information gained suggested further research that also included the ME/CFS population would be useful in understanding

Help comes in many forms.
These are the side effects of
Opiates
and Narcotics and when taken for Pain Control are an indication that you are either on too strong a dose or not strong enough. In any case you should seek a medical opinion immediately, either from your Doctor/Surgeon or Pharmacist.

Oramorph?
My consultant suggests I try this to help with breathlessness.I,ve had a lot of
opiates
over the years for various reasons, always thought they were constrictive. Some older post seem to say it,s none addictive,I find that very hard to believe.Any recent views?D.

US Opiate Uptightness
Last night I saw my Primary Care Physician to have, as I believed, Morphine Sulphate ER added to the Strange Brew that keeps me going, and the Pharmaceutical Companies making quadrillions(off shore, of course). My PCP offered me Morphine Sulphate 15 mg BID, with my Norco 7.5/325 being discontinued. I

RLS Meds?
Narcotics/
Opiates
are not an option for me because of previous dependency issues unrelated to the RLS. I am so grateful for your help! Luckily I have a very patient Shih Tzu that will lay on my legs regardless of the bouncing. :)

The
opiates
won't be doing the RLS any good, but we don't want to stop those as they've stabilised other things, really there isn't anything else other than stopping the
opiates

Morphine no longer works - next step is...?
I've read that morphine is viewed as the benchmark against which all other
opiates
are measured, and that leads me to believe that it's the best one, and that switching
opiates
wouldn't be of any benefit to me.

The Brain in Pain study seeks to better understand changes in brain chemistry that might explain the pain in Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. To do this, the study will be using a method of brain scanning that enables us to look at which parts of the brain and which chemicals are active during

Sacroiliac joint arthritis
Have had two types of treatments .... 2 Bilateral Sacroiliac Joint injections, and Radio Frequency Abalation of the Sacroiliac joint area (27 Aug). Believe that I now have Neuropathy -- (both) autonomic and peripheral. Am sure that I'll be learning more soon regarding this possibility from my Pain
