I take glucosamine and Omega 3 which are both recommended for Lupus patients. Does anybody know if it is necessary to take both or whether they duplicate in any way? Thanks

As a trainee Kinesiologist you quickly get used to discussing poo. It becomes a standard topic of conversation, frequency, style colour, texture. These are all hot topics in the life of a practitioner. We aren't quite at the Gillian McKeith stage of actually examining a clients stools but

In Britain, we have beautiful, rich, soil varieties that contain all of the required life-giving nutrients that hold the magical 'pinch' of life's wealth and health. We only ever hear about a few of the minerals and vitamins that are required in our diet but I would like to share with you a little information

Canned Oily Fish
We are constantly being told by the health professionals to keep the fat content of what we eat down, but we are told we can eat oily fish. Because I do not eat fresh fiish at home because (a) the smell, and (b) the bones, I buy my fish tinned. I regularly buy John West Kipper Fillets in brine which

Coeliac constipation; coeliac rash

I thought I'd share with you where I am up to with Lupus and my treatment.
As you know I found the steroids were not for me (see previous blog where I explain how they made me want to take my own life!), the previous year I had tried Plaquanil, which I also found was not for me (made me feel extremely nervous like waking up each morning feeling as nervous as I did on exam days

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12480795 Maybe worth asking your doctor about this. Also, in case you can take Omega 3 supplements, ask whether it is best for you to take it from fish oil or flax seeds (both are rich in Omega 3, yet they have some different characteristics).

Hi all, hope this finds you all as well as can be! I had an appointment with my gp yesterday to review the tablets I am taking. She was saying to me how it could still be a long road to a diagnosis and as I am struggling to find pain relief from the medication she has suggested things I can do to

Diagnosed in December and learning to live with the ghost that hides in my body
So this is my first post. I am somewhat hesitant about opening a window on my life, but having spent some time reading the posts over a few weeks, and discovering the real sense of community on this blog, I thought I would share my story with you, having found comfort that I am far from alone in my diagnosis
