HIV transmission through scratching
Hi. I’m HIV positive and has reach undetectable viral load on March this year (2020). Just now i was playing outside with my 5 year old sister and she accidentally scratched my arm with her nails and I noticed the scratch has caused an open wound. Can she get HIV from this? I’m really worried.

Protective role of ibuprofen.
Taking ibuprofen or aspirin lowered the risk of penetrance of the mutation in the LRRK2 gene, prompting less risk of developing Parkinson's disease. The study suggests that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs could be a modifiable determinant of LRRK2 penetrance. https://journals.lww.com/neurotodayonline

NSAIDs
as I’m allergic to ibuprofen and I have just been told last week the high pitched sound in my ears is caused by Naproxen ( stopped taking it no ringing) and my Gp won’t give me Etoricoxib not matter what I say .

Menstrual cramps..can't take meds!
Ladies, for those of you who suffer with severe menstrual cramps, how do you deal with it since you can't take
NSAIDS
? I'm really suffering lately. Nothing natural works. I've tried herbs, homeopathic remedies, I eat super healthy...nothing is helping!

Eliquis vs. NSAIDs
Ive had AF for many years and am considered “chronic”. I also have arthritis sporting bilateral knee replacements 12 years ago and a hip replacement. I take hydrocodone for pain. I take Eliquis for my anticoagulant and have been advised never to take an NSAID (ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.), which is what

Preliminary research info on Covid-19 in rheumatology patients
Biologic therapies,
NSAIDs
and antimalarial drugs like hydroxychloroquine were not associated with a higher risk of hospitalisation for COVID-19. How might this impact on clinical practice or future developments?

I have an allergy to
NSAIDS
and opioids so I only take paracetamol. There is always the associated crazy bowel movements and bowel mucus leakage resulting in burnt piles - always unpleasant.

Help with 9 year old just diagnosed with ‘probable’ lupus
She has been started on hydroxychloroquine and
NSAIDs
. She is struggling with this overwhelming diagnosis and the lack of child-friendly information, as most of it is aimed at teenagers.

False Positive HIV 2 test
Hi all, To say the least, my life changes drastically on 7/13/2019. I went to the Hospital on 7/8 due to shortness of breath an gurgling sounds in my lungs. Long story short, was hospitalized for 2 days for pneumonia. Completely cleared up and apparently I had walking pneumonia. Was tested for TB and

HIV testing - this is not the forum -a gentle reminder
I am surprised to see so many posts on this forum from people who have tested negative, or who have anxieties about testing or risks. I would draw your attention to the title of the forum "Self help for the HIV positive community " and the forum moderators pinned post on the right " the worried well

Blood Thinners
I can't take
Nsaids
because of Kidney issues. I would like to try Tumeric or Relief Factor (lot of positive testimonials) which contains Tumeric. I have asked EP & Cardiologist about taking together with Eliquis and has not been recommend.

Tales of the Stupid Phoenix Bird.
And then, suddenly, spine pain returns: strong, persistent, drilling into the nerve, taking my night sleep away, and stubbornly not responding to
NSAIDs
much. Is this a replay of last spring? Surprisingly, my markers turned out great, in fact, PSA is the lowest it’s ever been.
