Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

Does anyone have any experience of this either taking NSAIDs in small doses to treat inflammation if they have diverticular disease, (not necessarily for this condition) or an alternative product that has been recommended to help fight inflammation if NSAIDs are deemed unsuitable. Thanks

Why is it a no-no to take these medications together? I don't mean at the same time of day, but in general. I've had several surgeries in the past few months and both ibuprofen and acetaminophen were recommended for pain relief... Physicians know I am taking Pred for PMR albeit a low dose (2.5mg daily

I used to take Ibuprofen when my knee flared up but since losing a kidney my rheumatologist said ‘no nsaids’ but didn’t offer an alternative other than cocodamol which has no effect.

Apparently if you have Mastocytosis you can’t have morphine, codeine, NSAIDS etc Stuck with paracetamol and lidocaine anaesthetic patches. What does everyone else get?

Can’t take too many NSAIDs only ibuprofen with lots of carbs to buffer stomach, prescription NSAIDs are a killer for my gut. Already on cimzia, methotrexate and sulfa. Getting pretty down about it.

After an unexpected diagnosis of 3b CKD, my nephrologist is telling me to avoid NSAIDs. Unfortunately, several other health conditions find me in daily pain that isn’t managed with other OTC medications.

I'm worried about possible pain and bleeding afterwards Especially coming up to Christmas period when it's difficult to get NHS appointments as as I'll be back on antiocagulants and I can't take NSAIDs like Ibuprofen for pain relief.

Because of taking blood thinners, most 'normal' painkillers are ruled out because they contain NSAIDs, leaving only really paracetamol for general pain. Or, if not, what do you use to help moderate 'normal' aches and pains? Thanks.

In the past no NSAIDs or painkillers have worked for me. Even tramadol had no effect. Not sure why I seem to be immune to these drugs. Metabolism?

Although I got a migraine today, and the hospital gave me instructions not to take NSAIDs for 7 days since they removed polyps. tomorrow is Wednesday again so I’m not sure if technically its the 7th day? I can take Tylenol but it will not do anything to my headache.

I cannot take NSAIDs and do not want to take the gaberpentin which has been prescribed by NHS GP. My question is, does anyone have any experience of taking an oral steroid such as prednisolone to reduce nerve inflammation which may help pain as it would ease pressure on the nerve?

I've had RA for around 7 years now and didn't get on with various meds and biological so try and manage with nsaids and pain relief. Anyway, for past 18 months- 2 years ive had about episodes of severe stomach pain and diarrhoea.

hello all. i'm struggling with raynaud's, sometimes daily. oddly, sulphates trigger it with me, though i'm mostly reading about temp changes and things like quitting smoking (i don't). does anyone know if nsaids trigger it?

My arthritis has gotten very annoying. I can't be on my feet for very long. Stage 4 Renal disease for a while now and tylenol really doesn't do much.

Hi..im 68..hx of htn..my gfr 1/22 was 99,1/23 was 82..1/24 was 66..it wasn't found til last week..my recent is 50...I exercise alot in heat and take nsaids..when the blood was drawn..in the last 4 days I biked 40 miles, swam 1 mile and did pilates 4 times...this has me very scared...my urine looks good
