Actemra and aches and pains!
I was put on Actemra about 3 months ago and have dropped as prescribed i.e. 1mg per month. I have had GCA for 14 years and was stuck on 14mgs of prednisolone for some time. It has been a struggle at times but a few weeks ago I noted I was beginning to ache in my muscles and joints similar to fourteen

Flare or Adrenals waking up
I was diagnosed with PMR October 2022 and I am currently down to 4mg Prednisolone ( down from 4.5 on 3/11). Since Monday I have been waking up around 4mg with pain in my hips. Not excruciating but definitely enough to keep me awake for a while, now getting pain in shoulders as well. This goes after

increasing my prednisone
Diagnosed in 2014 and put on 30mg. Tapered it slowly and got rid of prednisone in March 2020. My hand ,knee and ankle swelled up so the GP put me back on 20mg. Tapered again, a little up and down but managed to get down to 2mg. Unfortunately I seem to have had another flare up and I wake up aching all

New to biologics - don't feel particularly well.
Evening all. Hope everyone is managing ok in this cold weather 🥶. So in the last 2 weeks I've had to take rescue doses for my adrenal insufficiency, had 2 emergency hydrocortisone injections (each one administered by work colleagues a week apart) as not caught early enough and generally felt off.

Prednisolone and osteopenia
Hi I had a Dex scan a few weeks ago and my bone density showed I have osteopenia, I was given calcium and vitamin D tablets to take twice a day. So would it help if I drank milk to help to augment this as I don't have milk normally but have yogurt. Thank you in advance for any replies. Peter.

Pericardial effusion
I had taken Prednisone for about three and a half years for PMR and stopped about four months ago. In December a follow up CT scan for something else showed fluid in the pericardial sac. One of the causes listed for this to occur is an auto immune condition. I have never seen anyone on this forum speak

Flare Protocol
I just spent a month at 2.5 mg prednisone and was going to 2 mg when I started to notice more stiffness in my right wrist, lower back, shoulders and neck. This has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of weeks. Four days ago in went to 5 mg for two days and the last two days I went to 8

iron lab results 10 weeks post iron infusion
I have had four iron infusions in the last 2 years. 10 weeks ago I received Injectafer 1000 mg with so-so results. I had seen a hematologist at my neurologist/Sleep specialist’s urging out of his concern for my out of whack lab numbers. The hematologist was not concerned. I gave my sleep, specialist

Antihistamines and Prednisone, are they compatible?
In the case of pollen allergies, is it ok to take an antihistamine while on Prednisone? I have mild symptoms, runny nose and teary eyes and so far haven't taken any antihistamines, but would it be safe to do so if symptoms get worse? I am on 4 mg for another month before attempting to taper to 3.5

If you have fibro with RA are you given meds for fibro as well ?
Hello, I've had RA for at least a decade . Earlier this year I was taken off all my medication because I could never go more than 6 weeks without antibiotics due to infections .Turns out I had a severely infected sub mandibular gland packed with calcium stones which made it impossible to have any treatment

rheumatology appointment
So I had a rheumatology appointment on Saturday at my local hospital. He is a lovely man but obviously not that informed about PMR. He insisted that if your CPR and ESR are normal you can’t be having a flair up. I challenged him on that but he insisted he was right. He also said people under 60 very

Long Haul advice and prednisone, please.
I’m flying to Australia for a month tomorrow and wondered if I’ve ticked all the necessary boxes . It’s about a 23 hour flight . We’ve spent the kid’s inheritance and gone business class . I’ve organised assisted wheelchair boarding . I’ve got my blue badge packed . I’m hoping they recognise it in
