Alendronic Acid and Methotrexate
I've had PMR for about two years. All symptoms vanished completely as soon as I was put on Prednisolone (15mg per day), but I had a bad experience with trying to reduce, as advised by both GPs and my rheumatologist, by large cliff-edge steps--from 15mg to 12.5mg, then 10mg, all in a very few weeks.

Help with timing of split Prednisolone dose
Hi, I have found this site amazingly helpful, thank you. I have a specific enquiry regarding the best time to take my split dose. When my rheumy advised splitting as I was getting pain from 3-4 am till about 10am on a single dose, he didn’t specify a time and I just assumed I should space them evenly

Further update on breast/nipple pain! And tapering!
Hello everyone. So much relieved that following mammogram - no abnormalities found apart from dense breast tissue - which is unsurprising following historic mammoplasty. I still have the discomfort near my right nipple - maybe a little less - which the examining Dr could not explain. But interestingly

Doxycycline
Hi, my doctor has just prescribed Prednisolone and Doxycycline for a COPD flare-up. Are both these OK as regards my RLS.

Lifetime
Wonder if there are any on here who believe they will spend a lifetime on Prednisolone. Been on it for 16 years and am now on 2mg;1mg on alternate days. Never seems to alter each tome I see my GP or Rheumy. Just wonder if I should accept it.

Is this the dreaded return?
Hi all, long time no speak, though I do read and keep in touch regularly. A bit of my back story…. Diagnosed in Dec 2018 with PMR then January 2019 GCA. CRP at diagnosis was 157 and ESR 118. It was a rollercoaster to say the least and for the support from all the fantastic knowledgeable people in this

what is the adrenal zone?
I've tried searching in FAQs but without success. What prednisolone doses constitute the adrenal zone? I am now down to 12.5 and notice a tendency to weepiness that I didn't have before. I went to 12.5 daily last Thursday, after 2 weeks of 15 mg and 12.5 mg on alternate days. At the start of the

is it back again?
I’ve been off prednisolone for almost a year now and I’m really, really stiff in the mornings and I literally hobble out of bed. During the night I wake several times with throbbing pain deep in my leg muscles and also sometimes in my arms. I feel as if it sometimes spirals round my groin and legs so

Driving agony
Hi, I have just been diagnosed with PMR and have started on Prednisolone. Whilst I have some symptoms of PMR (sore shoulders/hips I feel there is more going on. I can’t sit down or drive for more that 5mins before searing pain (which I think is sciatica) sets in down the back and sides of my thighs

trying to be brief . Diagnosed with PMR last week after approx 2 months of symptoms, ie really stiff in the morning , neck , shoulders , tops of arms and thighs . Understand this is typical , but can’t find info on other random issues like small pockets of pain in various parts of the body , tingling
