synthetic corticosteroid
Solumedrol IV treatment- people are willing to use a synthetic corticosteroid when turmeric or frankincense oil or extreme high doses of Vitamin D3 can help, curious as to the why's?

Saw 2nd Endo Today
Ok so I did wind up fasting (no coffee until 4:00 this afternoon!) and saw my second Endo this morning at 9:45. I had sent a fax outlining my symptoms along with my previous bloodwork. Dr did test for testing metabolic rate and it showed that I have been eating 430 calories LESS than what I burn, so

Preparing for GP appointment help please
Hi Everyone, I'm so glad I've joined this site as I've had great support so far. Following on from my last post I want to make sure I'm fully prepared for my GP appointment on Tuesday. I was told in a phonecall about 3 years ago by the hospital that I have PA and to go and buy tablets. I never followed

Update on "25 years of Fosamax"
I have read all your replies and looked at similar posts as well over the 3 weeks since I joined this community. Many thanks to you all. I feel much less isolated and much more enlightened now. My husband phoned the Osteoporosis Group nurse for me (I am quite deaf and not good on phone). She related

Use of vitamin K2-MK7 with vitamin D3
Like many of you I recently learned of the benefit of adding K2 to Vit D3 to encourage the deposit of calcium into bones and teeth, rather than soft tissue and arteries and had thought after reading other articles that the MK7 version was the best option but I have come across articles to suggest that

Repetitive Colds - Any advice please?
Hi, I have been having repetitive colds since the beginning of December and it is now my 3rd cold since then. I had been feeling really well all of last year and after my last blood test in February when my TSH was 2.29, I had an increase in my Levothyroxine from 75mcg to 100mcg. Is the immune system

Hello everyone. I would like to share my experience of feeling better so far with the help of my lovely nutritionist. I have suffered from CFS for 3 years diagnosed and probably 5 with no diagnosis. Thankfully I have managed to hold down a full time nursing job, although I wonder how when I feel it

Question regarding thyroid testing
Like many of you with APS I am low in vitamin D3 and Vitamin B-12 as well as homocysteine. I am also suspicious of thyroid deficiency and am going to ask my new hemotologist if he will test me extensively. I will ask him to test TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies,Thyroglobulin Antibodies

Stress - sometimes you can't avoid it.
Was diagnosed with PMR on first presentation to my GP, and following blood tests was started on 15mg Prednisilone which gave me full mobility back and about 80% relief from pain. Brilliant! However, from the day I started Pred my resting heart rate started to drop and I had other heart-related symptoms

I know this forum is about anemia but I have a question about polycythemia?
Okay so back in April my red blood cell counts were high 5.31(3.70-5.10). Hemoglobin 15.6, hematocrit 46.9. Doctor initially was testing for vitamin D3 deficiency. Had no idea about the red blood cell count he said everything was fine except the D3 deficiency. Now recently I just had a cardiac ablation

Some advice needed about the timings of taking vitamins, supplements and how they might react with prescribed drugs. The prescribed meds I take daily are 2 x 200mg Hydroxy, 2 x 30mg Lanzoprazole, 2 x Adcal-D3. I've been having loads of GI problems since my cholecystectomy last year (bile reflux as well
